Finally... a small wood-fired pizza oven worth buying. Put this together today & it's absolutely brilliant.

Normally teeny wood ovens like this are very bad at cooking pizzas... you need to go full-size or not at all.

I was about to buy a ~800-1000 Euro standalone wood pizza over about the size of a large BBQ... when I found this. It seemed to have nothing but good reviews, so thought I would give it a try (it's under £200!).

I am not disappointed... the first pizza was the only bad pizza out of the oven... and that was simply because I didn't let it warm up long enough :) Learned the knack for the 3rd pizza and they've been coming out brilliantly.

Highly recommended if anyone has been looking for something similar...

Big enough for a ~9 inch pizza.

Can't be one of your pics, it's in focus!

I've made up for it above and will be sure to make up for it when I pick her up next weekend.

New music player. I'm not an audiophile by any means (far too expensive a hobby for my blood), but it really makes listening to music with my SR225s a joy.

you do realise you can cook pizzas in your normal oven... each to there own etc etc

You can... unfortunately, unless you spend a lot on a special oven... they do not go up to the temperature required to cook pizzas properly + you do not get the wood-fired oven smokey taste which is quite nice.

At a lower temperature, pizzas take longer to cook properly and so the dough and toppings get dried out quite substantially compared to a pizza that has been cooked properly...

TLDR; you can, if you don't like pizzas that actually taste good... :p

Have you even been to somewhere like pizza express? They do decent pizzas... have you ever tried picking up a pizza express pizza from the supermarket and cooking it in your normal oven? Doesn't taste the same now, does it?

Exactly the same dough... one oven to the next will come out differently.

For a moment I thought Robot Wars was back! :D

Sir Pizzalot.

Hahaha :D

I dont understand how it works! :p How do you get the pizza in and out? Where do you burn the fuel?

It's got a little tray in the back for the fuel, a seperator so the pizza doesn't get engulfed in flames, a solid thick weighted tray to hold heat to cook the base of the pizza and it's aired in such a way that the pizza doesn't get smothered in smoke or anything similar like other cheap pizza ovens.

The front panel lifts off by the wooden handle & you can slide the pizza in using the thin tray / pizza scoop thing you see the cooked pizza sitting on.

Most of the cheap pizza ovens no the market are useless... this one is actually worth having :)

Cool, thanks crinkleshoes! :)

Does it taste any different cooked that way??

Ohhh yeah ;)

Have you had a pizza from a proper wood fired oven before?

Tastes just as good... not over-blowing it either, I wouldn't even recommend it if it wasn't good :)

Difference between home-oven store-bought pizza vs professionally cooked pizza... tastes like the latter :)
