2014, M135i.
Will post more details in the BMW owners thread.
Gooooooood choice
I wasn't sure if it was boggo 116i or M135... so couldn't tell whether to say congratulations or commiserations
hehehe
Same car was high on my list... competing with 2009-2011 M3 and 2011 35is Z4... but given that i've spent more than the last 3 years driving a BMW and I fell in love with the last few Porsche's I drove... I ended up going a slightly different direction this time
South coast, kinda nearish to Brighton. There are docks here. Its kinda dodge....
I rent a house here with my friend because it made more financial sense than renting a tiny flat somewhere else. To put things into perspective a little!!
Fairy muff... I'm sure "the gays" like a good pizza oven when they're on a "real food" binge (lol - taking the
**** for a silly giggle - not meaning to insult anyone).
So I'm sure you'd find something to sample in Brighton area. Been a while since I've been there... only really remember a really good Indian a couple of streets inland from the Rainbow Bar... hahaha
No need to justify your choice... I made a similar choice in a different corner of Europe... I'd been living in Switzerland for a year and 9 months... spending £1400-1500/month on a 69m2 apartment on the edge of a suburb on the edge of Basel. The apartment was decent enough... but it's crazy money for such small space when I'd been living in a detached house in a London commuter town (Leighton Buzzard) for £899/month before moving out here.
Toward the end of last year I moved just across the border into France and found a 147m2 (not including the floor-plan-size basement) detached house with 1200m2 garden on the edge of a quiet farming village for £700/month... it was a no-brainer.
Helpful that I get to work from home 4-5 days per week... if I had to be in the office every day then I
might have been more frustrated with the 45-60 minute commute each way per day... but for this setup, it's wonderful and the only thing I sacrifice on living out here is internet speed (5.5/1)... although we've found a new house that we like more for £1100/month that should get 15-30/1-6 speeds and many other mod-cons that we've just applied to move into.
If you justify like that, sounds like you're less than happy with where you are rather than trying to project a different image to others... if you're not happy move, if you are happy but concerned about what other things... take the time to learn that you're opinion matters more than others
"To put things into perspective"
... a similar house in Switzerland would easily cost £2500-4000/month.
This "saving" has let me buy an epic Porsche and a brand new Kawasaki with money to spare before I'd even reach the bottom end of that rate... nothing to complain about or justify... just make sure you're happy with where you are, otherwise it's worth moving and paying that extra
(/ramble ramble... ignore me if undue or unwarranted... I can easily read too much into things)
Thanks for this
been trying to get agreement for pizza oven but it would take up a lot of space.
Does it make whatever it is standing on hot? Can you use it on a table or does it really need to be on something heatproof? I have had some excellent pizza in Italy and wonder how close this would be.
Glad I could share
The videos I've shared above show it standing on your average type garden furniture and it does very well at distributing heat... so... if I actually had any garden furniture (all mine is inside the house apart from a hammock) then I would have no problem putting this unit on top of it... I don't think it would warp it at all (although I offer no guarantees here)... even after running for 45 minutes which is more than enough time to feed a family... the feet are still cold and the heat bubble should have no effect on even weak wood.
If you're particularly worried... you have the link to the manufacturer above... double check by emailing them directly and asking them... but i'd be happy sticking it on a wicker table without worrying about it.
I'd happily say this will compete with the decent pizzas you've had in italy (of course, it is dependent on your choice of flour, yeast, sauce and toppings)... although a pizza is relatively simple so it's not easy to do too much of a bad one. We've found a good pre-made pizza sauce over here in France and I know how to make my own from scratch and/or passata quite easily... the ingrdients do make a difference of course and I imagine the Italian Tomato sauce was epic... but I'm sure you can find equivalent ingredients in a decent UK supermarket... I just can't name any as I've been out of the country for over 3.5 years.
I promise you won't be disappointed... I really would not be making this recommendation if I had any doubts about this. I'm really picky about my pizzas, I make no money from the company selling these or anything of the sort (although I'd be happy to grab an affiliate link from these guys - something I haven't done for any other company)... the quality is brilliant... give yourself the patience of 1 or 2 days to learn how to use it and watch their videos and you will learn how to get the most out of it quickly. My only mistake was the first time I underfilled the wood and didn't leave it long enough to heat up. By the 3rd pizza I was making awesome pizzas... even the 2nd was acceptable.
By the time I started however, I was already experienced in making my own pizza dough and getting the best out of it in a standard consumer over (highest possible temps and pizza stone etc...)... still easy enough to learn with a little googling
