Well that was costly.

Whole family going?

Fair enough, when me and a freind tried it we both seperately concluded it sounded flat and lifeless like something was missing. I didnt realise digital electronics needed a settle in period either.

50-100 hours supposedly.

I think I've heard better... but not for 600 quid... add a 0 and you're getting there.

It beats out the Marantz by a mile.

I have a valve based rack dac and while the valve dac has a touch more warmth... it's not up to scratch with this Pulse X Inf.

I think the PXInf would sound much cooler if it wasn't warmed by the valve amp... I haven't tried it with a solid state amp yet.

I have a Camb Audio amp in the office that I could try... although I could also try it as a source for my Marantz home cinema amp... I wonder what that would sound like / will try.

EDIT:
Qatar have a much better rating than Air China. I was looking at BA but again, economy in BA compared to Qatar isn't as good. Premium Econ was coming out at 10k, which funnily enough I didn't fancy.
Wanted the best for the money as there are 2 adults, 2 kids and a 18 month old. For 21hrs.

For five seats... that doesn't seem bad.

We've just retired a bunch of X220 and T420 machines (replacing with Dells). Think I might snag one or two as test kit as it really seems a shame to let such well built pieces of kit go on the crap heap.

There's loads around "refurbished" now - they're hitting the 3-4 year kit refresh cycle of the big corporates. Some of our lads are still using X200 as test kit. They're damn near indestructible, even social workers couldn't kill them.

Omega Planet Ocean 45.5mm

Oh, and a replica I ordered first from China, as a 'demo' version before I bought the biggy ;-)

Isn't that a 42mm PO? From what I remember when I got mine (albeit 6 years ago), the 45.5mm version has scalloped edges rather than the notched version of the 42mm.

Left is the 45.5mm 8500 real omega, the right one is a copy of the 2500 42mm one from before 2011, so they will look different.
As far as rep goes (especially for a 50 quid one) it's not bad at all really; the pic doesn't do it justice; I certainly will wear it again, for when I don't want to damage the big one. It's still automatic, still keep good time etc...

Yes I knew the one on the left was the real one, but what I was saying was that the 45.5mm version was always scalloped rather than notched:

I guess at some point they decided that notched was the way forward, presumably because of the relative difficulty rotating the bezel with the scalloped bezel.

Unfortunatly ive found with omega bracelets they scratch if you look at them the wrong way (talking the clasp here most of all)

The clasp seems to be made of cheese metal

I think it's that fancy satin finish. Well I hope this one lasts, and I'll continue wearing the rep for 'dirty jobs' anyway, and I got a few other beaters as well, so hopefully it'll be out of harm way :-)

To be honest ive given up worrying about it. Its gonna get scratched and thats just the way it is.

When its serviced Omega bring it all back to as new anyway so why worry about it!

I manage to scratch my watch and never know it even happened so it's just a given thing I guess :p

Edit*
Unpacked this today and had a go.

It's a non cardboard Google cardboard. £15 so figured I'd see what this VR fuss is all about?

I'm still wondering what the fuss is all about... I could have bought lots of teas with that £15
