Agreed. We've been getting terrible feedback from the people at work, although the later drivers do help a bit. In preboot they're damn near unusable!

I only just chopped mine in, for an X220 just to save weight. Had the option of an X230 but I don't like the chicklet keyboards!

Nah, you need a quad-core W for that with the 4 SO-DIMM slots. T420 supports 16GB.

We've just retired a bunch of X220 and T420 machines (replacing with Dells). Think I might snag one or two as test kit as it really seems a shame to let such well built pieces of kit go on the crap heap.

That's a lovely model! Where's it from? I need a Connaught one.

Got that one in an auction but you can find them from specialised shops. Bargains do come up in auctions. Mine is this one:

http://www.cmc-modelcars.de/en/products/models-118/maserati/product-view/model/maserati-250f-1957/

The CMC ones are very detailed and tend to sell out quite quickly. I've also got a 1838/39 Auto Union Type D and a 1963 Lotus 25. They are 1:18 scale.

I've seen a Dinky Connaught and this one:

You should start saving. :D

Considering the work and detail, they're not really that expensive.

An assortment box of Heat shrink. How stunningly exciting!

Check the Airfix thread soon to see what I'm using it for.

It's been a while since I last bought waistcoat and trousers, liked these in store, different to the usual co-ordination.

Not gonna lie i heard the geekpulse before and wasnt at all impressed.

So far so good... don't yet know the difference between the base Pulse and the X Inf as I've only heard this one.

The timing, rendering and clarity are top-notch so far and it isn't even settled in so far.

Got a few dacs to compare it to, too

Fair enough, when me and a freind tried it we both seperately concluded it sounded flat and lifeless like something was missing. I didnt realise digital electronics needed a settle in period either.

Qatar have a much better rating than Air China. I was looking at BA but again, economy in BA compared to Qatar isn't as good. Premium Econ was coming out at 10k, which funnily enough I didn't fancy.
Wanted the best for the money as there are 2 adults, 2 kids and a 18 month old. For 21hrs.
