Insurance replacement for the z2 I waterdamaged (first waterproof phone I have ever owned and first one waterdamaged :()

They rang me up on Friday and said Z2 not available and was it alright if they sent me a newer model, the Z3. I said fine. Nowehere did they mention it was a Z3+ :(

I'd sell it and use the funds to grab a Z3, personally.

I've never understood this. Laptops are designed to be portable. If you need a bigger screen then buy an external monitor for it and then use the laptop around and on the move when needed. Having a laptop with a "big" screen (17" really isn't big these days) seems like you're not getting the benefit of a laptop or a larger screen and paying a premium for it :p

Indeed, me either. Apple didn't sell enough to make it worth their while. It's a less than "massive" 1.6" difference, or less than 10%. The retina screen will scale so you can get a virtual 1920x1200 if you want.

The last generation of lenovo touchpads were AWFUL, I'm so glad they're going back to the older style. It's the generation ending in 40 such as the 540, 440 etc. that are the worst touchpads ever created. Infact i reckon someone at lenovo thought it up after having part of their brain removed.

Got some refurbished T420s at work the other day....proper buttons! ah how i miss those. Flat touchpad that doesn't click, two full buttons underneath and two full buttons above to use with the nubben. Lovely to use.

Oh of course, i was only teasing because i dislike apple so much (Which i pointed out clearly to show that i was teasing) wasn't looking to stir anything :)

Agreed. We've been getting terrible feedback from the people at work, although the later drivers do help a bit. In preboot they're damn near unusable!

Hmmm I keep meaning to pick up a T420 before they get too old. They were fantastic work machines.

I only just chopped mine in, for an X220 just to save weight. Had the option of an X230 but I don't like the chicklet keyboards!

A lot of it can but think there are some limits, not sure the T420 supports 32gig though and easier where I work to just get the better machine than to start trying to get upgrades for one :)

The W is a better machine, just sometimes wish it were a little smaller/lighter to lug around :)

Nah, you need a quad-core W for that with the 4 SO-DIMM slots. T420 supports 16GB.

New parts for a future project. The mass of bubblewrap is a 2TB HDD.

Very nice kit and range of music crinkleshoes, what headphones do you use? Personally I'm a speaker man myself but have a pair of HD598s that I should probably use more often :p

Thought I'd treat myself to a new monitor. 27" 1440p 144hz. First impressions are very nice.

And a mouse mat. Thinking about it, should probably have replaced the el cheapo mouse.

:)

I don't much like headphones either... only use them for travelling or the odd other use, like calling from skype where speakers can create feedback if you use a decent volume.

My last purchase was a pair of the Geek IEMs to try them out as they were only $39 on the early buy price... nice clear highs and lows but lacking in the mid-range... although some tweaking in the EQ settings helps quite a bit.

I have some 5-6 year old Sennheiser IEMs, Sennheiser HD595 from my days as a student.

When I was flying a lot, I tried some AKG K550s and they're still going strong... but not good enough for the plane, so I picked up some Bose over-ear noise cancelling things. In normal situations, the Bose are probably the worst pair of headphones I have (and the most expensive)... but on the plane they're sublime!

For speakers, I have Kef Q900s & Kef iQ7s... planning on getting a pair of Kef LS50s for my birthday.

Next home cinema upgrade is going to be Teufels... but I have too many plans for my car before I'll find the money for them... http://www.teufelaudio.com/de/heimk...ultra-2-zertifikat-5.1-set-cinema-p13402.html
