Inspired by your charger and the very favourable reviews in the jungle, I've gone and bought the Xtar VC4. :o

My dog would want to eat his soul  :p

I've no issue with fireworks but my sisters' dog hates them like crazy.

Around bonfire night this year we must have had fireworks going on over the course of a week before and after it, rather than anywhere near bonfire night :(

Bloody fireworks have been going off here since 4pm. Cats aren't amused

My wife's parents dogs aren't too fond of them either... one of them has to have a tranquiliser every year - so she sleeps through them. I can see why, when they're going off at other times, she's really scared :(

 Dirty bugger. ;)

;) ;) nudge nudge

I'm so glad I don't live near you crinkleshoes. :p

I want to live next door to crinkleshoes

I used to buy rnli signal rockets. No sparkles just whoosh and badoooooom. Car alarms going off windows shaking. Stopped selling them now

Sounds fun :D

I wish we could buy the mega-mortars that the pros can use... although it seems to be relatively simple to get the training to get approval for them.

A few hundred there i am sure.

Horses for courses but i've always thought small fireworks like that at home is akin to burning money. Cheaper to take a trip to London and watch a bigger, longer, better choreographed and more impressive one.

For me it's setting them off that tickles my fancy... got a little bit of pyromania in me ;)

These aren't as small as you might think from equivalent UK purchases.

I *think* the maximum home-user bore for UK fireworks is 30mm... there are three big ones there and the max size here is 50mm... that makes quite a difference ;)

The "smaller" ones are 30mm minimum :D

The 50mm mortars wouldn't look out of place in a low-mid level professional show in the UK.

Have you ever actually been to the NYE fireworks in London? It's HORRIBLE.

To get anywhere near the fireworks, without paying an extortionate amount of money a year in advance... you have to get there hours early, stand in the cold and possibly wet surrounded by and squished together thing 1000s of people... and even then you tend not to be hugely close to them.

The choreography is nice, sure... and I love being anywhere near the massive ones... the feeling of the pressure wave is rather nice... but even the London NYE fireworks are pathetically small compared to what I've experienced in the USA for NYE and also the summer firework competition in Cannes... the latter having things I've not seen anywhere near the size of before.

I also like to get myself a bit closer to the fireworks than any pro show will let you... not silly close, but closer ;)

Seems like quite a lot spent on the fireworks, stay safe but make sure to post us videos of your 'display'!

Crinkle, how'd the fireworks go? And if you say with a bang i'm hunting you down...

They were awesome! :D Very pleased with the results... as were half of the town... I **** you not, there was a massive cheer from multiple directions from various people that we had no idea were watching... we were all surprised by how many :D Especially after the finale...

They were somewhere between 400-450 quid in total, for everything... I think the same would set you back 600-800 in the UK at least.

Not the best videos, but here's a handful:

I've never got it and I've never been to a firework display, even as a child I was never interested but I did take part in building bonfires.
Several of us sat down last night watching the firework display from London and we were looking at each other saying what a waste.
Horses for courses.

Halogen oven for £24 in the "sale" at Morrisons.

That is very impressive!

What is it made from, I presume it was used as a prop?
