A good watch can last a lifetime and don't really date, in fact if you buy the right one they can appreciate in value

Can you honestly see yourself wearing a first generation Apple Watch in 10 years time!

Nope, of course not, but straps will be moveable across generations (I'd hope). I upgrade my hardware often, it's one of the things I purchase often, so knowing me I'll end up getting the newest generation Apple Watches too.
Who knows how things will be in 10 years time, but ultimately I am getting the use out of it now, which I am happy with, which is the point of me buying it.

Wow, I just don't get the whole smart watch thing anyway, but that is a crazy price for any watch strap let alone one that looks like something off a Casio from the eighties!

I am very interested in this Hue stuff.

Just bought a house so still making it our but that stuff looks ideal. The lighting strips look excellent for warming up the feel of a room.

I've just got into LightwaveRF. I have 32 GU10s around the house so there was no way I was forking out for Hue!

Lucky I didn't buy it for anyone else then lol. If you read reviews on it (I know most people won't, wouldn't expect them to either) you can read a lot of good things about the strap. The engineering quality is fantastic, the way the the tool-less adjusting works is amazing, the links are hand brushed to add to the look, which I know adds to the price.

There are probably a few things that the traditional watch industry could take across into their field.

Uhmm, are you actually serious with this comment?

You adjust a watch strap once, and leave it. I do not want to pay a premium for a tool-less design I would use once...ever.

Watch straps do not need insane tolerances, they need to work properly and look correct. Tapered width links have been around forever.

I could have used that money to pay off the damn vet bill I can't afford at the moment!

Fair enough for having that sort of disposable income mind :p

But what about when Christmas comes and the inevitable pounds go up? I guess for re-sale it would be handy.
