Why do you need an amp with earphones?

I'll answer this again now I've had quite a few hours with my new earphones.
From the age of around 12 in 1970 I've been 'listening' to music on various equipment: Mono vinyl player, stereo vinyl deck , Stereo systems
, Walkmans, MP3 players up to my recent favourite of Samsung Note 3 into some Ultimate Ear earphones which I thought was excellent.
I bought a DAC last year (Creative E3) and suddenly my 'listening' turned into a lot more.
On Tuesday I picked up my Fidue A83's and my 'listening' turned into 'experiencing' music. Like Easyrider said, once you experience it you can't go back.
Last night I forced a mate to come down who thinks he has a great listening experience with his vinyl and he sat there blown away.
I'm now looking at DAP players.

The new PC.

Mk2 Golf.

I've got new bolts for everything and its all done now. I done it by eye and a vanier caliper. Alignment tools don't work on these (apparently, everyone I've spoken to says they don't)

I was surprised how easy it was. Wouldn't want to do it with the engine in the car though.

superb. what model is it? I do have a soft spot for a mk2 golf. my brothers got a 16 valve gti
