Was thinking of getting a Corsair K70 RGB (have the old one non RGB with Red switches) but confused as hell about what the current ones are since they changed the logo etc and apparently changed the model numbers too.

I'm just about to buy my starter kit. I've been reading up on OpenHAB uses etc.

I am putting in strips around two roof lights and wanted to do it with hue (I have one room all hued up at mo), as they are 3m long and almost 2m wide doing with hue is ridiculously expensive so going normal.

No, but I've not had them long enough for that. 2yr warranty though, so shouldn't be too much of a problem.
The only thing I'd say on the starter kit, I'd personally go for white bulbs for light and the strips for colour. From what I've seen people tend to prefer the strips over the coloured bulbs. I got the starter kit which was just the hub and 1 white bulb for £50 so I could pick and choose the bulbs/lights myself.
I've got some coloured spots one in a downlight and some in freestanding lamps (behind telly for example) and they work well. Haven't had a strip yet but will. I've also got several white bulbs.

We've just hand a new kitchen / diner built - 16 GU10s. I would love to Hue it but even white only that is an ouch!
That's exactly the reason I went with LightwaveRF, instead.
I don't use the timer aspect with Lightwave, either.
