Pointless packaging damaging the environment for a collect of 0 and 1 binary code one can download of the Internet.

I Just don't get physical media anymore for games...

But I guess if your dumb enough to buy into the hype of a big box then good luck to you....

I guess the also applies to music, MP3 vs vinyl, CDs etc :) No more junk lying around. All on the hard drive, safe and taking up little room.

What?!

I miss the days of PC games in huge boxes over kill! long may they continue :p

Same here. I used to love opening those boxes, sliding out the manual that was a proper book complete with the new book smell (rather than a single sheet of paper telling you the manual is on the disc/online) and then spending time flipping through it before dropping it into the desk drawer for easy future reference.

Easy way for the publisher to chuck in some cheap Chinese tat and make a fortune selling it to the gullible. :D

It works and you have to admit, seriously. Some of the boxed packages are so pretty. Maps, soundtracks, art books and whatnot. Even some have statues. Assassin's Creed/Uncharted.

It's lucky you guys didn't buy it then :p

I remember my first being Half-Life 2 Gold. The glossy black box with all the goodies and cap. Still have it in the cupboard somewhere.

It was one of the reasons I went for Rook's? Edition. Loved the embossed packaging/map and such. Those thick books and as Malevolence said that new pristince plastic paper smell.

Im not too sure about that, think of it. Carboard and some plastic and the transport versus the cost of a massive data center and its electrical consumption plus the on time of the pc to download.

Finally got the guns we had deposit on. Shotgun Certificate took 3 months, and we had to wait that long to get delivery!

Browning B25 B2 12g from 1975 (hand made, hand engraved), and 425 Prestige 20g for the Mrs. That was a bit of an expensive day ;-)

Engraving looks stunning. I need to get myself over to the Mid Wales Shooting Centre one weekend for a play, its right on my doorstep.

Is that where you go?

Still getting used to it. It is just beautiful to look at and view photos/videos on.

The "Edge" features I don't use much as I have no need for them and they're nothing that can't be done on a non edge display anyway via apps. But it looks cool I guess. Certainly Samsung's best effort at a premium handset from the materials to the software performance too. An iPhone competitor for sure this time round but with a massive battery and long battery life and an excellent camera.

There are a few quirks I'm not fond of, but will just have to adjust to them having owned an Xperia for the past 2yrs...
