Decided it was time for a new car

But it still works out very cheap transport when you look how much the fuel, road TAX, insurance & maintenance costs compared to using a car or motorbike...;)

The distances I travel these days are not suitable for bikes, I either walking, trains, driving or flying.

Besides...you wouldn't get a mountain bike as transport

TVs are an insane price these days. Paid £1000 for my 50" 1080p a while ago.

You think £279 for 4k is expensive?

If you buy as soon as new tech is released then yes, otherwise wait a year or 2 and get it a lot cheaper. Our 1080p LG 3d plasma was £500 4 years ago. Still looks good today.

I think they mean insanely cheap :)

It 100% depends on what your commute is, my commute at the moment would destroy my hybrid & road bike.

My cyclocross just about survives mine but needs very regular maintenance to keep nuts and bolts tight. Mountain bike - not a problem.

Road bike...not a chance.

The first time I rode down our canal towpath I had to get off and push in several places over really horrible cobblestones. At one point a bloke on an MTB came past and said "Ever thought you've got the wrong bike?" and sped off.
It was at that point I knew I hadn't done my homework and I'd been given bad advice.

The upper rear frame arms aren't connected to the seat down post. They go around it and then push against the shock.

So its less bumpy then?

I did about 10k miles on a mountain bike on roads but a racing bike wouldnt have lasted as long the way I rode it or carried as much, anything that works is good. If its a perfect road then sure, Ive borrowed a nice racing bike and it does like 30mph feels great

Keep fit, in which manner? Trail type or like in woods?

Or in the road? :p
Lately the only use it been having is me moving it around the garden out of the way so I can mow the lawn..:o

But I did turn the crank on it last week to oil the very rusty chain...:p
