Look I personally don't care about the MM. I've bought £1000s worth of equipment from the Overclockers shop over the years and only posted occasionally, I have had a recent uptick in the amount of posts I would normally make due to wanting to be more involved but some of the answers here hardly promote forum engagement. Maybe I don't want to discuss the benefits of a 4090 over whatever other GPU? but I am keen to discuss things like news, politics, entertainment etc and just generally have a laugh and if that is seen as unhelpful and doesn't count towards community engagement then I don't know what to tell you.

The sad fact is I could make 20k posts in the general forum, become a recognised name/participant and still I would not be considered as a "valued community member" At least in the eyes of the MM.

Like I said, I really don't care as I have never had access and probably never will. I can certainly understand the disappointment from "good" members who may have occasionally used the MM which has now been revoked. It's a tough one and there is clearly a case on both sides. Its difficult to not be considered a 2nd class citizen because of my choice of forums though and the changes that have been made in the hope of more "engagement" are actually having the opposite affect for me. I don't care about the MM, I just want my post count to actually move.

edit- feeble attempt to fix my grammatical skills

If your post count doesn't change when participating in the normal 'Life' forums, I suspect there's something wrong and you probably want to post in one of the help sections to ask someone to check what's going on. AFAIK, it's only the New Members and Testing that deliberately aren't meant to add to your post count.

I have raised it already in the sub forum, we've all had a good laugh about it but the issue still persists. The mods in this thread are aware.

The alternative is that they just engage with the community rather than leech off it for a decade and then throw a paddy when it's pointed out they've not been contributing

I concede that I am fighting a losing battle.

As a matter of protest I now prefer to stand with those retroactively revoked of their MM access.

I accept that I will never have MM access again.

Why the hell should I?
I was an acceptable part of the community prior to this ********
The perks of this forum - such as the MM and Gaming Giveaways, are for active members who post and contribute for the forum in a way which can then be recognised;

Not for jumped up little ****s who believe because they've been here 20 years and made 300 posts they're an active member who deserves rewarding. If you contribute to the forum and make it a better place, like 99% of the people here try to do, then you become eligible. However, I've just seen you've requested your account to be removed. Good.

Maybe you could make an orange banner saying 'Just Stop Revoking MM Access'

Also I have no idea who any of these people are in this thread. I was simply standing up for what I believed was right and I now see that it was futile but still at least I tried.

Definitely not a fan.

They need to stop needlessly breaking the law. They could have people use legal means to protest, like big groups of people using the pelican crossings.

What can be done when people use their right of way?

That's probably because they don't engage with the community, so nobody has any idea who they are :p

:D

I think of it as a difficulty I used to have because of how my brain is/was wired.

I might not know anyone here anymore but I still have great respect for all of you.

I’m baffled. Are people genuinely throwing a strop to the point they are wanting their accounts closed just because they’d have to make a few posts to regain access to a single specific area of the forums.
An area, which has always been a reward for ‘active forum participation’
It looks like it, yes.
