There's a huge mental health thread.

I'll have to hunt for those threads when I've got some free time to play with. They're 2 very interesting topics for me that are important in my life. Am I allowed to start my own threads if similar ones already exist? Some forums don't like that...

No, keep to the existing threads.

I'm at 745 shouldn't take long to get back I guess. Just prefer to be more of a lurker. MM is great tho. It's nice to actually sell a GPU to someone that isn't an idiot that understands what they have. Community is so much better than the likes of eBay. Don't have to worry about scams ect.
But nobody likes lurkers

Some seem to see and use this forum purely for trading. I can understand how the loss of revenue might be disappointing but not really the foundation of this forum I feel.
I don't just use the MM forum for a good deal. I feel good about selling my stuff there. I know that the community appreciates it. I don't mind selling stuff for a bit cheaper knowing it's going to a good guy. The amount of times I've had a few emails between a sale just being cool guys.

Sorry just want to add this too. I've been really ****** off a few times when I'm looking for a certain item such as a GPU for a build to only find the same person constantly buy up GPUs. Then I find when I search their username on eBay to find them selling a boat load of GPUs all the time and making money which is against the rules. Another thing I'm gonna mention too is about people that shark in stright away on a sale of for example a cd key or something that I'm looking for. Funny how their response is a minute within the original post. I'm a programmer by trade and could easily set up a custom bot to do this but I don't because I'm not a *****. I think you should be banning this more than legitimate users.

Feel free to report the posts/threads, the mods are volunteers so we can't check every thread.

Not just at you but to anyone who sees this behaviour.

We take this very seriously, using the MM to buy and sell for a profit is grounds for instant removal and it’s happened to quite a few members. We can’t police this by ourselves so if anybody sees this happen, please tell us and it’ll get dealt with quickly.

And please, in response to us asking for reports, don’t anyone use the pathetic ‘snitches get stitches’ (or equivalent) line.

Is this like when people rant about something on Facebook and someone asks if they've reported it to the police/big Dave/other person in charge and the answer is usually no?

As Feek says, when we've been informed of this happening we do try and investigate and once we're certain the outcome is always the same, the user loses MM access.

That's something that goes against the entire idea of the MM, the problem is we don't have the time to go and check Ebay and reference the listings to MM so can only rely on people letting us know of their suspicions.

A month or so ago a member put up a wanted ad for a 3080 and I was going to reply as I have one boxed up, but due to this thread I looked up their history and all of it was on MM for the last year or so and had zero interaction with the community, so in effect adding nothing to the forum at all.
I din't reply for the above reason.
I guess it's tough for some, but it does nothing for the forum if non contributors want to leech off other members for their own good, and save a few quid without giving anything back.

You can setup alerts for new threads in sub forums, that's probably how they get in first.
