IMPORTANT news about watching F1 on sky this season

For it actually working no. The problem would be if they did the check I mention above. It's not unheard of them charging people twice. But I'm pretty sure they warn you before they do that. I have no idea how often they check as with yourself it would seem they don't or haven't been. Just going from when I had a good search about a year ago before I got multi room.

We managed to get the phone line working in the bedroom again. Had to replace the wiring from a slave socket on the staircase to the bedroom.

Just got Sky+ HD set up! F1 looks lovely in HD! Had a question though. If I set a program on the F1 channel to record (say a race), do I have to worry that if it overuns it will not keep recording? I'm assuming it will be fine as Sky will effectively lengthen the show on the schedule so the box will keep on recording? I'm pretty sure this is less of a worry than when it is on the BBC as Sky don't have to worry about an overrun affecting the schedule of shows they have going on after. They'll just bump whatever recap packages they were going to show later on that day.

For single boxes they don't really mind. For Multiroom boxes they do random checks every month but not for everyones boxes. They pick a few thousand at random and send a letter. Then they send another after the second month. Then they charge double.

When I first had it Sky installed with a standard digibox about 6 years ago I unplugged the phone connection when I installed the fish tank (phone point is behind it) and forgot to put it back in. Got a letter from Sky a couple of months later asking me to check the connection...

I suspect with the modern broadband connected HD boxes it's a non-issue now?

I hope some can help; We're about to move house in about a fortnights time. Originally intending to cancel and then get a new sub to take advantage of whatever new customer can get.

Looks like that's out the window with us wanting Sky F1 HD.

What would happen if we cancel and they call back to retain us, do we lose out on the F1 HD we currently have? And also, if we move address, it should just be a simple transfer, so it'll not put us on whatever new customer are facing tomorrow, where Sky F1 becomes a Sky Sports package?

Just to check...

I'm currently on: Sky Entertainment Extra, Sports Pack, Sky+HD. Sometimes add on ESPN if there's something I want to watch, but then remove it. Joined Sky back in March 2012.

If I remove the Sports Pack (leaving me with Sky Entertainment Extra & Sky+HD), will I keep F1 or lose F1?

Keep, just make sure that the advisor doesn't talk you into entertainment extra plus. Be very specific that you want to keep the 'legacy' HD pack.

Thanks. I think I'm going to add on BT Sports (at £15pm) as that's got the rugby now, and remove Sky Sports Pack (at £21pm).

Only just found about this change for F1 access.

Got a mate who is moving and was going to take his sky account over to his new address.

As he currently has access to F1 HD through the old HD subscription, will he be able to keep this at his new address or will they switch him over to the new HD Entertainment extra plus pack??

As long as he does a Moving Home through Sky (which is free) and doesn't cancel to sign up at his new address or get coerced into taking 'Entertainment Extra+' his TV package won't change.

Thanks for that.

One last question, he wants to try the old "I'm cancelling" trick to see if they will reduce his bill.

If he gives a months notice but later changes his mind (during the notice period), will they just leave him on his current package?
