Recently took an IQ test and got into Mensa.

Other than on my CV, how else can I use this to my advantage, to warrant the £45p.a. membership :(

The best part was before the test began, the administrator lady was explaining the test and said "before we start, there's a pen + pencil infront of you, can you please check they work before we begin the test". So I pick up the pen and do a squiggle. The guy next to me across the table does the same with the pen, then picks up the pencil and does a squiggle...YES! THE PENCIL IS FUNCTIONING PROPERLY! It was all I could do not to point and laugh, I don't think he belonged there...

those mensa tests are purposely easy - if they weren't they would never get any money.
i and everybody i know would take mensa membership as proof you are stupid, ironically.

This was a suspicion of mine that I've had all through the process of registering and taking the test etc.

I was a member of Mensa years ago - found it pretty worthless tbh so cancelled my membership after a couple of years.

Plus I found most members to be egotistical and conceited.

I fully expected members to think themselves above others...

Ideally need to formulate a double-blind test, with no money involved. With no benefit to testing body to pass candidates, then a more reliable result is likely.

Judging by this thread, your name, your signature and your attitude in later posts, you clearly have quite a fond affection for yourself.

Perhaps you can use your massive mensa IQ to make a clone and then you can go **** yourself.

Are you implying you don't like who you are?

Such a personal attack, for what have I done to you?

I have another problem. To join Mensa you must have an IQ in the top 2% of the world, right?

Surely that changes all the time if the population slowly dumbs down or smartens up?

And anybody know roughly just how many people in the world fall within the top 2%?

Country. This is British Mensa, there's American Mensa etc etc.

I decided there was no point paying the membership, didnt seem worthwhile to be. Didnt think it would make all that much difference on my cv

All I can imagine is when they're comparing two candidates and they say "Well, this one reads" (thanks Michael McIntyre :rolleyes), "but this one's in Mensa" :p

what goes online stays online

I'm back from the bed. :p I stepped off the bucket, took the noose from around my neck etc etc. I work nights, it was past my bedtime.

Thread got a bit sinister in the middle, but overall quite epic.

Just a shame when I've achieved something that the majority of people look for any reason to bring me down or make it out to be worthless, despite how I merely asked how to use it to my advantage, which only Castiel has answered really.

As for my "pictures" I'm pretty happy with what I have, and have had plenty of compliments from the gender that matters, so don't expect me to take the collective opinions from GUYS on here too seriously ;)
