T'was intended to be indicative of my desired lifestyle, being appreciative of finery in most of it's forms. Perhaps I overestimated the calibre of the OcUK poster, and didn't think that it could be construed as trying to be superior.

Did you know that "it's" actually means "it is", rather than the possessive "its" you clearly think it means?
It's also " 't was" rather than "T'was". It's a shame you're not so appreciative of the finer aspects of English, or as known as, doing it right.

"It's" = "It is" fact. You cannot argue that, in which case, you meant "its" not "it's".
