From the gist of the thread im guessing mods "abusing" their powers and creating threads which people could consider spam?

Correct me if im wrong, in which case I will apologise with the appropriate humility. Just seems much ado about nothing... :D

Welcome to the only forum on the internet with 3 user avatars.

We had this discussion before and half of the 500 or so people who voted said they wanted more avatars. Some of us even went to the point of suggesting new ranks and avatars but we were ignored.

I like the theme but 1500 posts later i still hate the avatars and i wish we were still allowed to turn them off.

Its not enough of an annoyance to make me go to the trouble of finding another forum now that i've settled down here but its still worth shouting about in the hope that we get some new avatars. I'm staying here for the community and because i want to support ocuk and i'm a customer but i wish members were listened to a bit more.

Us ocuk customers pay for it indirectly. Thats not to say we are obliged to have a say on how its run, but it would be nice to be listened to from time to time.

I'm not worked up about the avatar itself, as daft as it looks with oversized glasses.

I'm more worked up about the fact Otacon felt the need to rub our noses in it - when only a week or two ago, a thread was created (by a user, IIRC) asking for more avatars.

What is the actual point of this thread?

No you don't. You pay for your computer parts - which, by the way, you get at a good price, shipped quickly and with (apparently) good customer support. You're perfectly free to buy your computer bits somewhere else, just like you're perfectly free to go and find another forum to post on.

I don't see it as rubbing our noses in it. Because all he's done is got himself a custom avatar. OH NOES! HE IS SUCH A BITCH

Seriously if stuff like this gets you worked up, you need more important things in your life.
