Yes El it's the double standards thta's wrong here not the ****** avatar.
They post stickys saying they are going to raise the standards then Spam themselves. Hypocrits.
There are double standards here - so what? It's a privately run forum - you're not entitled to anything. deal with it.

The forums need to be moderated by somebody to maintain the standards that Spie wants his forums held to. That somebody is the moderating team. I don't agree with Spie's standards, I very rarely agree with his posts, and I don't always agree with the moderating team's decisions. But I do enjoy posting here, and if accepting a bit of double standards is the price I have to pay then that's cool by me.

Im assuming... "alright alright calm down" in scouse accent? ;)

I find that comment offensive :p In all seriousness A Don modifies his avatar big deal, if people don't like it then leave, the door is over there, stop bleeting about it :(

He started a thread about it big deal, get over it

For the people asking if dons listen to the users, the Price Check forum was made into its own section within 1 hour of being suggested, as it was a very good idea.

More avatars creates spam, maybe having two or three themed for the current wiseguy rank, but its all just awkward, the system works, people post on the forum so the avatar and signature stuff can not be that bad.

Its not like its a rule on only people with one eye being allowed on the forums due to rules on posters faces is it.

This thread is a nice triggered debate, not exactly spam is it bar Otacons triggering post. ;)

It would actually be useful if I knew what the bloke was trying to do.

Calm Down , Calm Down ( in a scouse / harry Enfield style , I think ) !

And i think his name is Barry or Terry or Billy or Jimmy or..this could take forever . ;)

I wouldn't mind if it was a joke but saying 'in response to member demand' is obviously taking aim at those who have asked for new avatars or other forum improvements before and were told to get lost.
This is not just about an avatar. Its double standards.

Heh. I will say that it's fairly elementary to choose to have no avatar, despite the option to have no avatar (or browse without them) being removed from the CP after the last fuss.

Not that it's an issue for me. I just filter them out in Firefox so nobody has an avatar, which suits my browsing preference :).

Angry young fellow aren't you? :D

I am Not angry and Not young.
I am merely voicing my opinion. The way i see it is that the Don's are here not only to enforce the rules but also to set the standards. The O.P. is the most childish post i have seen on here from anyone let alone a Don.

O look what i have that you can't, Jesus christ that's hilarious coming from a grown man and one who is a Don. :p
Like i said the avatars mean nothing to me i would prefer mine blank.
We are talking about a completely different subject to having a stupid pic next to your name.
You want high standards then the Dons should set them.

Give over. Surely there can be nothing cooler than Al Pacino in aviators.

This thread is both amusing and exhausting. People really take the internet too seriously sometimes :/

It is a joke....

Dons do a lot for this forum voluntarily, unless youve seen behind the scences then you can't grasp how much actually goes on, really you can not do it.

Not spam, the thread has probably one of the longest average post lengths in GD at the moment, that is not spam. :p

Wow someone else does the same as me!

I actually prefer the Wise Guy avatar to the Underboss one, this one makes me stand out to much, a good thing for getting a message across but makes you more of a target for trolls.

The internet, omg its real lifezors. xD

^^ That's funny Yewen as you told me only the other day that the Dons do nothing and the UB's do all the work. :p

Did not mention how much UB's do. ;)

I think the original post was a piece of ART! It magnificently but succintly puts forum matters into perspective while delivering a deeper message that no matter what you may want from life, it's important to view what you have got, and value it for what it really is.

*gets in barrel*

I agree
