Don't take this the wrong way, but that seems the response to anyone who doesn't like something with the forum and suggestions have been made. Instead of listening to what people say, it's a case of "Tough, don't like it? Then sod off". Which is a pretty lame response imo

As you will see by my post count I'm fairly new to the forum. I remember well the moment I gained my first allotted avatar and the feelings of joy and accomplishment that went with them. The Honeymoon Period of seeing the little picture accompanying my posts - the pride...the smugness when viewing a post from someone with less than 100 posts, etc, etc.

Now, a little further down the road, I've come to see them as fairly meaningless.
Instead I find my eye drawn to a posters sig as a good visual hint at the person behind the comment. I also look to good grammar and punctuation as telltale signs of whether the opinion of the poster should be considered or discarded.

Come, let us not fall to b****y Revolution over a picture measuring a mere 83 x 117 pixels! Where one brother rises against another. For then, all is lost.


If the rules change however, please could I have this one...

But how can you please everybody? Some people want extra avatars, some people want bigger signatures, some people want different colours.

I'd like to see the forums a totally different style, but do I expect them to change it for me? No. The answer is simple, people who like how these boards work and look, will stay here and post. Those who don't, should go find another forum.

welcome to the real world.

The problem is the Don's are damned if they do and damned if they don't. This thread was meant as a joke and people have gone off on a massive Crusade about Otacon abusing his power etc....

Thats fine, i'm not complaining about the avatars, but if you wanted a bigger sig and you were told no, then a don made himself a bigger sig for a 'joke' and started a thread saying 'new sig... at members request' you might be a bit annoyed and call it double standards.
 
If dons abused their power in a non joking sense, with real issues like banning members they personally do not like I do not think they would last very long.

I see no real abuse of power here, he was just making a joke, and considering how poor most of the tripe in GD is, this thread is very interesting! :D

Most funny and serious thread in GD, at the same time!

I didn't, i merely stated that i thought it was wrong. Opinions are allowed where i come from.
