I can't choose PPPoA as BE doesn't use that. I have gone through the Auto Set up and even manual and entered the correct settings given to me by BE (Static IP, Gateway IP, DNS & WAN net Mask) It says the line connected but the box in task bar has the ! in it with no inet access. Tried using MER and the ! in the task bar box goes away and say's I'm connected but again the internet it dead.

I just don't think this router works with BE* even though it's in the list in the auto setup.

Did you manage to get it working ?
I managed to get mine working on o2 (which uses Be) but the speeds are sporadic. A speed test just got 1.7mb when it sync'd at 5.7mb on my last router :(

Have you tried using the BeBox in bridge mode, which is to set it as just a modem and then have the Asus N55U just as a router?

No not tried that, might give it a go at some point.

I did manage to get it working with a beta firmware "Firmware Version: Beta 9.0.0.4.145" in MER mode. Just the speed was pretty terrible compared to the BeBox Speedtouch 780.

Are there any firmware updates, i'm running v1.0.0.9 and can't find anything ?

As above Firmware Version: Beta 9.0.0.4.145 new lay out and can clone MAC address option too. Also sorted the upload speed issue by changing the "Service Category" to "UBR with PCR" and entering the numeric "1887" in the "PCR" box. Also had an issue with very slow loading web pages, which was resolved with upping the MTU to 1500. Get better speed from my talktalk line than I did with the TT DLINK router they sent me. But my BE line is terrible with this N55U even with the new firmware.

Read and make sure you're using the Annex A box before installing the beta firmware.

Hey All,

I have had 2 of these on my third...

First: Wouldnt boot after 5 minutes
Second: Wouldnt connect at all
Third: Kept saying that the phone line was not connected and had to retart the router EVERY time it happened, every 20 minutes!

I'm now running my trust BT business router without any issues, rock solid... might just be me though... but the wireless and gigabit LAN is very good :D

it's worked, after flashing the firmware I was getting:

3.84mb down
0.1mb up
40ms ping

After the changes to the adsl settings:

5.88mb down
0.68mb up
19ms ping

Would be interested to know if the issues everyone's had with this router have been resolved with the new firmware, since on paper it's otherwise perfect for our needs...

The firmware is still very much 'work in progress'. I just hope that whoever was originally responsible for the project is now working in a kimchi factory. Could be a nice router, maybe one day. I'd stay clear for now, it still a complete pig.

I wasn't having issues with mine really, just was a little slow in getting hooked up with the ISP when connecting and would have the odd weird timeout.

Went with the new firmware this week anyway, so far so good, but it's basically the same features with a different UI look.
