In this thread...

I actually quite like the look of the R8 in the evo video. I'd probably go for that. However I'm not such a flashy git and i'd probably not enjoy driving it around having chavs hurl abuse and ketchup packets from their McD's through the open roof.

If I were after a porsche cab for summer B road blasts i'd probably just go for a C2s or C4s, if you really care about the performance that much you'd probably not be looking at a cab in the first place

From the road cars in the early to mid 90s. :p

They stood out when I was a lal'n for some reason, as did the 146, half the reason I bought one. S2 is on my list of maybes for the next car.

Switching your statement around, Porsche makes me think of rear engined air-cooled... Oh, wait.

A 911 Turbo I believe you could use everyday and not grab as much attention as the R8 does.

Basically because you see 911s everywhere and they all look the same to average joe so you can get away with taking it to the shops.

The R8 really does stand out and will grab attention which you may not want.

Personally for me, the R8 does nothing for me at all. It's a glorified TT with a nice engine as far as I'm concerned.

911 everyday for me. (I'd take an entry level 911 over the R8 aswell)

Hmmm Porsche heritage over a VW.

Nope you got me, is this a trick queston?

Considering their history and relationship, Porsche and Audi's pedigrees don't make jot of difference to me really, at the end of the day I'd hope to choose the better car on its merits, not it's badge...I don't even know who owns who with the restructure and what not, but VW, Audi and Porsche have all rolled in the same bed from time to time. I wouldn't say no to a Porsche because their best selling vehicle is a SUV, nor would I pass on an Audi because 47,000 shower curtain reps own one.

It really isn't a glorified TT, I can understand why some people would think that, but it's not. I have issues with it like a lot of other people but I doubt you really would step out of a R8 V10 and run back to your Carrera without a backward glance.

I'll choose a Porsche. The reason being I can buy a relatively good Audi for a fraction of the price of a really good Porsche. So given the money in question, it'd have to be a Porsche.

Oh and holy thread revival Batman etc.

I wouldn't choose either, I would take my time and try every car in the price range.

No I'm lying I would buy Aston in a heartbeat.

But out of the two, the Porsche.

I don't get people saying the 911 doesn't look good as a cabriolet.

Looks pretty damn good if you ask me.

Post a side or rear profile and it just looks....oddly proportioned. The aerokit helps a bit (thats a Turbo cab you've posted there isn't it?), but it still doesn't look right unless its a hard top.

Still looks good to me.

Also is that actually any other cabriolet that will get you from A to B on UK roads as quickly as the Turbo?
