Inception - July 16th

Saw this at the brummy imax. Incredible. Best film i have seen in a long, long, LONG time, and only trailer i have seen on TV where i have gone 'hmmm i actually want to see that'.

Definitely recommend

It was good, but 30 minutes too long imo.

I thought the ending was about right, how else would it have finished?

Saw it last night. AMAZING FILM.. Deffinately in my top 3. I was utterly gobsmacked during the film (something i have never been while watching a film). Don't look at the reviews incase they spoil the plot, it has an amazing plot which could be ruined, that said im thinking of going to see this film again (something which i have never done before either)... In one sense this film would have been epic in 3D (the effects are flawless) however that may have given off the wrong impression about the film. The film did drag on for a bit, but its 100% worth it. I can't think of a better way to spend 2-3 hours.... I honestly can't..

Saw this last night and it's also now in my top 5 movies. The whole world that it creates using things we already experience in our dreams to create a realistic new concept really impressed me.

The slow introduction to this new concept too with small pieces of information that builds the bigger picture really put the script at the top if its game.

The rules, the logic and the Physics as well as the whole idea of conscious and unconscious states is amazing.

Every scene to me felt like it was needed and not once was I bored or felt the film was dragging.

The only thing I know is that Nolan has played Inception on me, especially at the end.

Totally agreed.

It was always going to be an incredibly tough film to produce and direct, especially in the third act going however many dream states deep making sure the viewer knows whats going on and where they are at.

There were a couple of scenes where i found myself thinking 'meh, this could have been left on the cutting room floor', but overall its spot on.

SPOILER-------

Forgive me for being dense, (and i had a few drinks after the movie) but where was the maze that had been designed?.. - the one to slow down his wife?..

brilliant film but i disagree it was complex and hard to follow seemed pretty straighforward to me.

Totally depends on the person though. My wife generally doesn't 'get' films, this would have been far too confusing for her!

I saw this last night too and loved it, it's genuinely one of the best films I've ever seen. The animation and CGI are some of the best, if not the best, I have ever seen in a film, the acting is great from every cast member, the storyline is gripping but not that difficult to follow so long as you pay attention, and the script has just the right amount of humour in it to make it funny as well as enthralling.

Highly recommended!

Went and saw it today (my first Imax film) and all I shall say about it is EPIC. I think it could seriously be one of my all time favourite films. Want to go see it again now.

Two words, one of which I can't say, the other of which is; "AMAZING".

What a spectacular film, it could go down as Nolan's masterpiece, and given his portfolio, that is quite something.

Utterly awesome film, far far greater than the overhyped and flawed Dark Knight, acting was great, plot was great, camera work was great, loved every minute of it and will be seeing it again sometime soon I hope.

Went and saw this tonight, very good film indeed.

Personally I didn't feel it was too long, the story held me well enough to ignore how much time had passed. I thought the ending was spot on as well, can't think of how it could be made better.

Just came back from seeing it.
Vey compelling storyline, very original, and great acting. I liked the way it starts off confusing and the bits then fall into pieces.

Spoiler question:

THe one thing I cannot understand is the first and almost last one, with Leo and the old guy at the table. WHo is the latter and what does it mean? I completely didn't get it.

Edit: I understand the movie as such was mostly a flashback from when he is eating at the table. Was the oriental guy their partner who got shot and went into limbo. Did Leo join him because he got stabbed? How did they get out of it and wake up on the plane?

The "old guy" is Saito, because he died whilst dreaming (I think it was the first level of dreaming, when they were in the taxi, that he got shot) and thus fell into "limbo", as they called it. Therefore Cobb (Leo) hung around as well in order to find him and kill him (in the dream) in order to bring them back to reality (the aeroplane). He was really old because in the "limbo" state, a few minutes in reality can be decades in the dream world.

After reading that it probably doesn't make a lot of sense, but I'm not sure of the best way of explaining it, maybe someone else can do better!

Good film. Not helped by the two foreign ********s who spent the entire film sitting next to me talking, playing on their phone, receiving calls, answering calls (!!!) and generally being *****s.

Give it an 8.5/10.
