[Indie Game] Project Zomboid

Ah I haven't found an axe that may be why. Few more questions;

- what is online mode like?
- can Zeds get through windows or are they ideal escape routes?
- is there any benefit to changing my base from my original house?

Thanks!

Can't say I've enjoyed it, picked it up in the recent sales and I can't take to it.

Find it a boring experience and online is anything but a lag feast and lack of anything to do once you've geared up which doesn't take very long.

Might come back to it down the line with more builds being released it's got serious potential.

Online PvP base raiding, try doing some of that :) It might just be this game is not for you though, we all like different things.

Experienced that first hand yesterday. I was with a group but I went out alone to get some supplies, I get back to the safehouse wandered in not expecting anything untoward and 2 guys come at me with axes swinging out of nowhere and I see they've killed the group already. That was the end of that character!

Had an e-mail about Desura's bankruptcy. Project Zomboid people are telling everyone to get their free Steam keys from the Desura website (if you bought it there) in case the site goes down. Instructions are here. I think most people will have it directly from Steam on here but just a heads-up in case there's the odd few who haven't.

I still play on and off, for my money it's still not complete and needs work but I do enjoy the odd game, I just find that when I get "established" it does tend to get a little boring as you become nigh on untouchable unless you do something deliberately stupid.

I could never really even get to building a base, I'd end up dead within the first few nights :P

I haven't played it for quite a while though, should probably download it again!

I never even build a base, just used my starter house. I'd sometimes move somewhere a little closer to the main supply points but in general I find it a bit too easy unless I go mental :p

Do you mind sharing what starting traits you recommend? I found becoming "established" really hard. Loot spawns in particular, I always ended up missing one key item, then the power goes down and all my food goes off.

Drinking bleach is not the best idea, either.

I tend to just start slow. Secure my base by boarding up doors and covering all windows to protect myself from random Zed attention. I then just steadily scout outward from my base clearing a building at a time and just hoarding obscene amounts of everything. When that's prepped I tend to make a second fall back base a reasonable distance from the first on the off chance that something does go wrong.

Then I find very little to do and get bored :p it takes a long time to do that though as I take it slowly one step at a time and take no risks with the Zeds. Nothing extravagant, I'm the tortoise in the race :p

Tried this again after 8 years. Massively customizable now. Playing a similar challenge to the below.

Unless you make everything extremely scarce, it doesn't really have that survival element in my opinion.
