IndyCar 2012

My take on it so far: Race was dull, cars are hideous, rules are funny, drivers are numpties, commentators are cringe inducing...

So typical IndyCar then :p

It will be interesting to see the first oval race though. This new car is meant to stop them being processional.

Any news on if any other IndyCar races are going to be shown on SSF1?

Looking forward to the first oval, see how that goes.

I think Sky have all the races, but not sure if they are putting them on SSF1 or SS3 or 4.

your not kidding - missed the start of the season and that's some major bodywork changes!!

Yeah, the "launching off the rear wheels" thing has killed more than one driver in the past, hence the "bumper" and enclosed wheels. The new design has too much downforce though.

So they aren't showing any more on the SSF1 channel :(

As far as I know, no.

This weekend was a one off to try and entice us to subscribe to the full Sky Sports package, where they normally show Indycars on SS4 (I think). No sale as far as I'm concerned. The racing I saw this weekend wasn't a patch on the last time I watched Indycars back in 1993/1994.

The short story is bad management drove CART into the ground (but not before causing a split). You're currently looking at what used to be IRL, the two series merged again when CART basically went broke.
