Have you tried it with upnp disabled? I had issues with certain games not liking it, once disabled though they worked fine.
 
now what happens is i join a server walk or run for about 30 secs to a min then it freezes and boots me back to char select screen.

some times it does crash with send error report but mainly a DC to char screen now...

Have you tried running it in Compatibility Mode?

(right-click the warz exe, hit properties, select 'Compatibility' tab, tick the 'Run this program in compatibility mode for' box and choose 'Windows XP (Service Pack 3)'.

Worth a shot if you haven't tried it already, as it has helped some people.

ive tried it with vista sp2 and win 7, but ill give that a shot now...
 
If you're getting booted back to the character selection screen, that's a whole different thing to the game crashing - you're getting disconnected from the server. That's either going to be caused by a file mismatch (unlikely) or your net connection, as already posted above, I would have suggested playing with the UPNP configuration. Sounds silly, but check your firewall and anti-virus as well just in case - you never know.

As for the game actually crashing, it's happened twice to me since the day one patch, before which it was random but I did receive it a lot more. If you're still getting that, tweak the graphics settings and take a look at any overclocks if you have any.

im getting a mix of crashing and dc's mate, but mainly dc's atm, in the first 2 days it was more crashes.

ive tried all you have mentioned, firewall, antivirus, low gfx setting, upnp, took off overclocks etc...

Could you try allowing the game through windows firewall.
Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Windows Firewall\Allowed Programs than change settings\allow another program\browse\add Warz.exe then tick both boxes Home\Public and try again.
