** INSANE SAMSUNG 1440P 27" MONITOR 24HR DEAL!! **

I'd be tempted by something like this but going from my second display, U2410, to this would be a step down for colour critical work in PS/LR that was already factory calibrated with the latest firmware from OcUK - read some banding issues from a few sites. A no for gaming as its 60Hz and that 5ms response would be noticeable to me, my current Dell is 6ms in Gaming mode and that was jarring for every game. Otherwise a very tempting offer, 1440p is where PC is meant to be viewed :)

  • Note that the T variant is USB 2.0, D is USB 3.0 as correctly specified by OcUK. General specs as listed in the manual right here (small PNG).
  • Looks like the warranty is 2-years on-site from some quick checks :)
  • Don't know if this is region-based but the S27A850T has a 3-year-warranty. This product seems to be aimed at business or general-use. Samsung blurb: "The warranty period for Samsung PC monitors is 24 months for consumers and 36 months for businesses."

So how would this compare (quality wise) to my Dell U2412M? I gather that the Samsung has significantly more input lag for gaming. I'm been quite happy with my Dell so far, although I will make the jump to 2560x1440 at some point. Is this Samsung really as good as/better than (say) the Dell U2713HM, which is cheaper at £479.99 than the advertised regular price for the Samsung of £569.99?

Are these monitors a couple of years old now? Tried youtubing them for reviews etc and all videos are like from 2 years ago.

Wanna know if they're any good, especially for gaming.

Any idea when these are due now?

Also... Gibbo, my account is showing £504.25 VAT???!!!! All I ordered was 1x MSI 290 and 1x Samsung screen?

I'm struggling to find recent and decent reviews of this monitor? Has anyone found one? Is it a new release or an old one, as questioned above? I've only found reviews and mentions from back in 2012!! Makes me wonder if this is old stock that's been uncovered or something, hence the price, so no idea what the manufacture date of this will be.

Well now I'm thinking of going with a 2560x1080 screen. The LG 29UB65-P.

I'm going from an old Samsung T260 1920x1200. So what do people think wide 21:9 but in 1080p or the 1440p?

Depends... I've been in similar dilemma. If you're coming from 1200 though, dropping to 1080 may be a bit tricky at first, productivity wise. If you're looking at the screen mostly for gaming though, the LG may be the way to go. The general consensus seems to be that 1440p is best for productivity, with 21:9 being best for gaming. 3440x1440 being the real sweet-spot for both, but also being rather cost prohibitive at this moment in time, not to mention GPU intensive.
