These deals work better than anything else, because OcUK is normally the one who creates these kind of deals, so it all kickstarts within OcUK and then our competitors play catchup, so its us who gets the traffic and biggest boost in sales.
Our normal graphics margin is normally unfortunately single digit to be competitive, these kind of deals normally give us better margin, as the manufacturer is aware they have an overstock issue so really drop low to shift their problem, hence more margin potential as I am dictating the price I want to pay and not budging until they give in, then I make more margin and can pass a deal onto customers that is amazing and creates waves in the channel.
In general customers buy what they need when they need it, deals like this make customers impulse buy or upgrade to SLI for example. Overall it gives a nice boost.
An AMD deal is in the workings.
Sorry about the delay on the 680's from both OcUK and Asus, they have left their hub and are en-route, fingers crossed for delivery this week.
