Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't your standard riflemen the largest percentage of your troops? Not sure why anyone would want to go rifleman, seeing as how the support gun is just as accurate and with the bipod amazing for holding buidings/camping.

Anyway, they need to find someway to make the two sides play differently, for all the realism they seem to be striving for, the two sides play the exact same.

Just spent a hour being a target for the opposition, really hard to learn the maps when you keep dying. Constantly :(

Yup, its a VERY annoying game to play. It seems to be even if you're looking in the direction of the guy that shoots you, you don't see any muzzle flash even to give you some kind of hint...you just die scratching your head.

Definately not my kind of game, more like an exercise in frustration. Can anyone tell me for example why the hell you move so slowly when you have the grenade launcher on the m16 selected? Hardly realistic to slow you down just because you have this selected seeing as its already on the rifle. I never noticed it slowed you down till i tried to sprint across a street and ended up waddling along slowly and getting shot...

I think at best this games gonna be like red orchestra and have a very small following, i like slower paced games but this game feels more like you're controlling a 90 year old whos crippled with arthritis.

I honestly think this game has great potential and is one of the best mods I have seen in a long time. Graphics are amazing, level design is really good, and the way the game has been set, aimed at realism is in the right direction. I love it, however I still think Red Orchestra is where it is at in terms of realism.

might have been posted but here is a reminder.

Dear Insurgency Fan,

As part of our constant efforts to keep you up to date and informed of our progress there will be a community meeting tonight at 1700EST (2200 London time) on a TS server. We will be releasing the IP 15 minutes before hand in the #ins.meeting channel so be there! In attendance at the meeting will be a range of DEVs from all disciplines answering pre-posed questions as well as questions 'on the fly'. We look forward to seeing you

Okay then guys, after the meeting last night the Devs have released a new patch.

ftp://ftp.multiplay.co.uk/pub/games/fps/halflife2/mods/insurgency/Insurgency_Beta1_Client.exe

If you want to view the minutes from the meeting, they can be found here:

[URK]http://forums.insmod.net/index.php?showtopic=7268[/URL]

Things are looking good, I'm just downloading the patch now.
The link in your post seems to be the client download and not the patch. Have you got a link to the patch?

Cheers :)

I just spotted that, it's not very well layed out on the website and I just saw "Official Client Downloads - Client 1.1 beta Patch only" then the links underneath and didn't read the "Coming soon" part!

Sorry for building your hopes up guys, I'll be sure to post up when they do actually release it!
