A brilliant mod

Guys if you *seriously* want some features adding into this game...

Then sign up the the ins forums OR email the devs, its a rather good dev team and they will listen to sensibile ideas

Im not that into games being perfect tbh, i just enjoy them for what they are

Bugs and all that arn't something to make a fuss about, just have fun ;)

Would just be nice if you knew who killed/TKed you so you can take appropriate action when you respawn.
 
i was on a server earlier where you could see who was killing who just like every other game, i wonder if its a server side thing you can implement but people dont know about it?

I think it was showing some info on the server I went on. SAs beer drinkers it was

Spawn time was about a minute instead of the normal 15 secs or so

Probably has similar cvars to CSS, would easily lessen the frustration factor of the game if more servers used it.

I don't agree with this, the game is moderately tricky to get used to but once you are, you're sorted and you can have so much fun. I like the lack of crosshair and the fact that you actually have to look to see if you've killed somebody instead of being told. At the end of the day, it's not difficult to distinguish somebody falling backwards in a blood splatter from somebody not falling backwards in a blood splatter, is it?
 
Quite a few servers now have the plugin which show who has killed who and it doesn't play nearly as well, just turns into more of a DM fest. If you shoot at someone behind a wall and they disappear from view, you are left thinking "did i get em or did they duck?", this keeps things nice and tense. There's enough servers out there to cater for both, I just wish they'd say that they have the mod enabled in the server title so personally I could avoid them.

Saw an [OcUk]Greenboi on a server yesterday, he TK'd me! :eek: :D
 
I also saw Greenboi playing on a server once.

I agree with you guys though that the kill indicator shouldn't be used. It's one of the things i like the most about this mod. Having fewer indicators means that you have to be more aware of your surroundings, making it more involving which i like.

Definately my favourite game at the moment, i love the gun you get as commander of the insurgents (forgotten the name of it :o).

there should be an icon on your desktop - or boot up steam and goto my games - you can launch from there :P

edit: nvm, steam didnt want to cooperate, the icon is there now *goes back to muttering cursewords at steam*

Finally got this installed last night
Had a quick go, its pretty good, its got great potential, one of the guys on the server was telling me what do do, becuase i was new, i didnt have a clue what i was doing! he said hoto "c" but there wasent a C, but he said "its on your HUD" errr there was no C on my HUD

anyone want a game , find an empty server us newbies can go on?

When a command has been given, for example to go or attack objective C, on the compass type thing at the top of your HUD, there will be a symbol showing you the direction you need to take. If the order is to attack, there willl be a sort of crossed swords symbol, if the order is to defend then it'll be a shield.

Takes a bit of getting used to but it's a great mod.

what does that H like symbol mean?
 
Yes, it is the location of your squad leader. I dont see why they don't have a marker for the A,B,C points etc. in the same was as you get one when a waypoint is set. So if you said "defend A!" a marker would appear there, this could help a lot, as at the moment the actual capture areas aren't always clear. Either that or have a map in the same way as Red Orchestra...
 
I think this mod proves there is such thing as too much realism. After 30 minutes in the game I conclude the main objective of this game is sniper fest - unit with scope that can shoot prone from far away becomes master of battlefield. Unbalanced weaponry doesn't make it any more fun. Anal HUD creating team kill doesn't add to appeal either. This mod brought all the worst things from Red Orchestra and none of the good ones. Not for me.
