Impreza insurance costs are barking mad - I briefly played with the idea of an MY2000 UK Turbo 2000. Insurance? £2k despite Group 17. Double the price of the 530i, which is the same group.

Are they as bad for the estate variant?

yes i have driven one,was looking for one a few years ago but was going to be my only car and it seemed to raw as a day to day car.
i admit the teg is a far better cornering car than the fiat but i personally dont tend to push a car round the twisties on a public road so i would be faster in the fiat.coupe's are quite good round corners once you change the dampers and anti roll bars.on guy on the coupe forum used to keep up with his mates evo6 round the twisties then hamemr him on the straights:D

I guess it depends on how you drive it, if you change up early then its not noisy at all. Its only when you really go for it that it starts to make a lot of noise which is exactelly what you want :) as neil says, 4k at 70 is fine for noise although it does get quite a bit louder if you go much faster.

I was considering the fiat coupe but ended up with the teg as I didnt fancy the risk of the fiat being unreliable as so many are if they haven't been looked after properly.

Also, im not talking about really pushing the cars on public roads, once the teg is up to speed ( not that much slower than the fiat at all if both standard ), its much easier to maintain the speed when driving along winding roads. Well I found that to be the case anyway - may be due to the teg being easier to drive fast when inexperienced ( as the first time I drove either was on a test drive ).

Also, I believe my insurance was a bit higher ( about 200 quid ) on the fiat due to it being a group 20(?) car as opposed to the integras grp 18 ( on the uk model ). I did like the fiat but at the end of the day chose the teg even though it was twice the price!!

what about an Accord Type R 200+ bhp 4 door saloon great handling nice 0-60 about 7 secs just myself and skywalker both have one and there great insurance is good also since its a group 17 car
