Intel 120GB Internal SSD 320 Series Special Offer

These drives make a great upgrade for older laptops.

I put an 840 evo in my old 2008 laptop a few months back and it has greatly improved the computer for general use. Everything feels much more snappier and more responsive, plus the battery life has improved.

OCZ were actually bought out by Toshiba and are currently releasing new products under the OCZ name. They have improved there reliability and offerings. We will be stocking some of the range going forward. We will also be doing some testing of our own to compare all the new SSD's and mSATA and M.2 drives coming out once the manufacturers have released their new lines.

That is an excellent deal, Intel might not be the fastest in benchmarks but in real world performance you'd be hard to notice the difference and when it comes to reliability and lifespan they are always a top choice. :)

Miss your grand opening day when these can be had way cheaper :D mine still going strong

Edit: oh that was 330 and this is 320 :/

I assume they come with the latest firmware to avoid the 8mb... destroy all your data bug?

Should do. I have a 80GB version in the mrs pc. Its easy to update the firmware using the Intel tool if not. I have to warn you though, that bug can still happen even with the newer firmware. However sometimes just powering the computer on and off again fixed it, for me at least. Its not happened since, but it did happen a few times in all the years ive owned it. A fresh format fixes it. Its quite rare though so you should be fine.

Its not really worth the risk though is it? The 830 and 840's I purchased from here have been working faultlessly and not thrown one fault yet!

Well these are Sata 2 so worth it if you're on an older Mobo. Decent little drive if the price is right. Would be nice to see another £10 off the price imo.

I think you know this, but your statement above suggests that you need a sata 2 drive for sata 2 motherboards. My 840 evo works fine on my sata 2 based dell d630 :)

Samsung 840 EVO can be had cheaper and the Intel is an old sata 2 drive so not that great of a deal, £50 would have been more like it.

Meh, Samsung doesn't have nowhere near the same level of validation for it's SSD's as Intel does that's worth a premium over other makes but yes SATA 2 isn't great although day to day your not going to notice much difference unless you transfer a lot files around.

Yeah i know. I i just meant id only consider a slower sata 2 drive on older mobo's.

Samsung drives are yet to have a serious issue with destroying peoples data though, no?
