Der8auer should check out two b660 boards that should allow clocking nonK chips in a day or two, might grab one for testing if they work on normal boards too, dont see the point in paying 700€ for z690 apex or smth to OC a 175€ chip.

If none of the AIBs have this on the cheaper boards then they have missed a trick here as they would have sold like hot cakes.Im hoping there is a cheap ddr4 board that works too, but probably not.
I'd say very likely considering the 3 chips der8auer tested all did + 5ghz.I wonder how easy it is to reach 5.0ghz on i5 12400 CPUs?
Presumably, not all chips will manage this.
And cannibalise sales of their big, expensive boards? Hardly. If none of the AIBs have this on the cheaper boards then they have missed a trick here as they would have sold like hot cakes.
Asus B660 can oc!
Yep, works on B660 ASUS Strix board(s) like I said further back, all DDR5, no DDR4 boards. So £240-270 board and £250+ for your RAM for your £180 CPU.
So a total and utter waste of time right now, just a get a 12700K/12600K and a cheaper Z690 DDR4 board for the same cost.
works on DDR4 too
There's a suggestion that the B660 Strix-A D4 might be a DDR4 board that supports it, but there's no confirmation as of yet. Even then that's still a £250 board, which is absurd for a B660. Any savings over a K-series SKU and an MSI Pro Z690-A are eaten up and you're left with parts with less flexibility and resale value in the future.
The only real hope for any sort of "bargain" seems to be some ASRock boards that aren't available yet, but may possibly support this.

Why would they when its an advertised feature of ADL?I doubt it. Intel hit ASRock hard for allowing BCLK adjustments. Maybe EVGA?
