The £ only buys $1.07.
Infact....
$329 / 1.07 = £307.5 + 20% VAT = £368.97.
Oh dear....

Where does the extra £30 come from in your non-rockety science?Starting from $329, that equates to roughly £370 at current exchange rate, 16GB will easily be min £400. It's not rocket science.

So £370, where does your extra £30 to get to £400 come from. Unless i've misunderstood, this is for the LE version, which is the 16GB one, the 8GB will be cheaper.This...

The information I had seen stated it was for the LE edition - which would be only the 16GB edition - but that source has been recently edited to just say A770, so yeah could be for either.... so everything i've said can now be ignored! We don't know what the price differences are, Intel only gave one price.

I mean we've gone from $329 = £350 from Humbug, to £360 from Angilion, to £370 for 8GB / £400+ for 16GB with you... The $329 / £350 is for the LE, which is the 16GB one. Every other option will be cheaper.
"Limited Edition" marketing code for limiting the number of people who will be suffering buyers remorse. So the 16GB version could actually be over £400, calling it the Limited Edition to make you feel like the price is justified, ffs....
Completely agree, my next post said that my source was updated to make it A770 rather than A770 LE so everything i'd said in the previous posts was outdated and to be ignoredThere's nothing about A770 pricing on Intel's site and the half a dozen websites I looked at about it all stated that the Arc 770 was priced from $329. Which would make the $329 price for the 8GB model.
I was making an estimate in my head from US$ to UK£ and factoring the difference in taxation and an estimate of the usual difference in pricing. Unless the exchange rate and/or taxation changes in the next couple of weeks, £350 is too low an estimate IMO. And that's assuming they're actually available at MSRP, which they might not be.
$329 is currently £308. That's without tax. 20% VAT makes it £369.20. So I was wrong in my off the top of my head estimation and RavenXXX2 was right with their number. The UK MSRP for Arc 770 8GB will be £370, not the £360 I thought.
Don't forget "Great value, looks like a great GPU for gaming" and "Price is high because of plummeting value of £". Think i've seen those on every GPU and CPU release here for the last 4 years now.I can't wait for Gibbo to put the 770 8GB up on pre-order for £435 with the usual "OK you lot - Order now! Limited availability! Best price in UK!"
That'll be a lively thread for sure.
"Price is high because of plummeting value of £"
Well looks like the rumour of them being cancelled was wrong then after all! Happy to see a new maker in the field, but unhappy that they aren't anything that can compete with nv/amd :/
