Intel Core i9-7900X reviews are going live!

LMAO - do you realise some of us actually read more than one forum - you seem like you are stalking every mention of this release on multiple major forums.

What is hilarious, that someone already mentioned in this thread you were on Reddit doing the same thing, and when I was reading the Overclock.net thread on the i7 7900X to see if there was more information,I saw you arguing on there too.

funny, only one person on overclock.net is arguing and that was some guy with a hard on for amd :)

reddit just reddit :) but anyway I'm flattered that someone's actually taken the time out of their life to follow me round the web.

It's quite funny when you sit back and watch. He's getting the same reaction everywhere which kind of tells it's own story. Not sure whether it's fanboyism or just straight up trolling.

Dude I've seen multiple people on their and here telling you to cut out the nonsense. You seem to be intentionally winding people up, what's the point.

not winding anyone up, just posting my opinion of a product, this is an open forum for discussion, if you don't like my opinion, like ryzen is a poor performer in games then feel free to block me, I've had to do it with several members on here that seem to want to argue for the sake of arguing.

to me, it's just faildozer 2.0 again and people are trying to justify their purchases that they know were sub par products, the same excuses I heard all those years ago "but games will be more multi threaded and bulldozer will be better then"

that's fine, that's your opinion and all, opinions are like ********, everyone's got them and they all stink eh?

but yea, feel free to block me, saves my inbox getting cluttered with trolls following me around.

You might realise some of us have been on forums for quite a while and read through multiple tech forums anyway to see if there is anything new. I noticed you on Reddit as I check the Intel and AMD subreddits every day or two,but somebody else mentioned it before and I also check Overclock.net too.
In the end you seem to be trying too hard dude and your not the first newish poster to get overexcited about some new release- trying to validate your purchases on forums really never ends well. Heck long before you mentioned FO4 and Ryzen(I have played a lot of it with 100s of mods and large custom settlements),I have mentioned it loads of times here regarding performance being better on SKL/KL,yet interestingly many people were never really that negative with me about it,but then I also explained where the extra performance was useful.

You seem to actually think out of all those millions of FO4 and Skyrim players there are running it on the latest overclocked SKL/KL CPUs - they are not and unless you are mega-modding the game and really getting to certain aspects of settlement building it will run fine for the most part.

But dude what is the point, your like a religious fanatic who preaches his gospel to all those who can hear. Don't worry about it you belong to a superior species that only use superior cpu technology, some people are happy being normal with not so superior cpu tech. It means very little in the grand scheme of things.

Having an opinion is fine but incessantly ramming your opinion down peoples throats, across different forums is not only tiresome it's bordering obsessive.

Amen to that.

if you actually read some of my posts you would see that I said ryzen would be good for any mid range build with ryzen r3 releaee that would be the option most people should go for up to (cureently g4560 for extreme budget but r3 should replace that)7700k which is the top end gaming cpu.

I've actually said several times that amd have very very good price/performance, what some people seem unable to comprehend is I don't value price/performance and I just want performance, do I think there are many people like me? **** no, if steam surveys are to go by the average gamer has an i3 with a GTX 970 at best.

So one one hand you say it's has very, very good price/performance and on the other you say "to me, it's just faildozer 2.0 again and people are trying to justify their purchases that they know were sub par products, the same excuses I heard all those years ago "but games will be more multi threaded and bulldozer will be better then".

Lol yet we cannot comprehend that you don't value price/performance as if we have not seen you post that nearly as many times as you've told us your getting a 7820k. You cannot seem to comprehend that not everyone needs the very best and because it's not the very best in certain areas it's a "faildozer 2.0".

Can you at least kind of comprehend why people might perceive that as trolling like behavior?

I do understand people have budgets. of course they do, but seem people seem to be constantly arguing with me about prices and ' but ryzen is better because it's less powerful for less money" yeah no ****,that's fine if you only have a set budget and want a certain amount of performanxe for you money then of course ryzen is a smart option.

the only real people I've disagreed with have been people making silly claims like 'I can't watch a YouTube video with a game open'

or "my ryzen at 4ghz is faster than a 4.8ghz in a single core comparison" which is misleading imo.

anyway I digress, that's my view on things, everyone is entitled to whatever opinion they want.

Sometimes it's not about budgets I'd imagine quire a few people could afford to buy a highend Intel, maybe not flagship beause that is aimed at a very target part of the market, not everybody needs to be superior, with a superior budget, or superior opinion.

You are winding people up to an extent that they end up arguing back, whether that is intentional or not is besides the point. I haven't been on here as long as some of the others, but I've seen enough to know that for the most part people agree to disagree.

You can have your opinion just try not to entwine it with your superiority complex so much.

that's fine, we can agree to disagree on our views and leave it at that then?

anyway, back on topic, repost from another forum

seems like whatever bios hexus/bit tech were using must have been bugged or just not ready, hopefully most of these will get sorted before launch.

Numerous people have shown high CPU usage with youtube 4k/8k running.
I think there was 4 of us but you chose to only pay attention to the guy with the i5 using something like 10%. The polar opposite of the majority.
As I've said before, selective reading.

Not sure how true it is, need to do some more digging, but someone was mentioning that cut to L3 Cache is to allow for better overclocking because L3 cache generates more heat than L2 cache.

I'd say that's very unlikely.
The cache architecture is a something that would have been decided ages ago, and changing it between Skylake and the Xeon E5/E7's (and Skylake-X) would only be done for a 'good' reason.
That 'good' reason is far more likely to be a response to where (at the time) Intel felt they were under pressure or needed to improve: server and HPC workloads.
Improving overclocking is hardly an important design criteria for Intel despite the impression which enthusiast forums might convey.
