Intel Core Ultra 9 285k 'Arrow Lake' Discussion/News ("15th gen") on LGA-1851

That's the only review I've seen so far with a 285k. Any info is better than none at all.

And quickly moving on...... Literally

51 db is LOUD.

Dear heaven, yes, that is noisy.

It's getting rather tricky. The latest hardware taking so much power, making so much noise.

Is it practical in a home environment?

Don't you just love the way he added that as a post production overlay to the chart and moved on without citing the db levels of the 4090 like a scolded rat running for its life?

These _____ Youtubers, with their thumbnails appealing to rotted brains, cowardly, slimy, weasels.

Many enthusiasts have turned to constructing their own cooling solutions for the 5090...

Ha ha good one.

In all seriousness though cooling the 5090 isn't the problem it's getting rid of the 500 watts of waste heat it generates from your case. The founders edition can make the situation worse because it's flow through design is pushing heat direct over the CPU and the motherboards voltage regulators.

True enough. I have often wondered if we could do the same as heat exchangers and mount the 5090 on the wall outside the house, with cables running in to the PC.
