I don't think that's a particularly helpful reply. The item is a pre-order, the price has dropped before it has come into stock, so I don't think it's unreasonable to expect a refund of the difference.

It might 'only' be £7, but that's 11.6% off the original price.

widdyst - I think you should flick OcUK a message via Web Notes or the Customer Service forum with your order number to see what they can do.

I'm so on the edge over this, I have specs in sig, going to do an xboxhuge upgrade come christmas. Overclocking is something I've never done, would it be worth the cost of a new mobo and new i5 4970k or whatever it is?

Correct, no IPC difference. Just a clock boost with better thermals/power delivery afaik.

Why dont you try overclocking the i7 2600 ? You might find it gives you a nice boost.
