If you have a 4770K it's not really worth swapping out for, DigitalStorm on the tube did a review/benchmark and apart from slightly less power and heat even on WC it's just not worth it if you have a good clocking 4770K, Wait for Broadwell.

Unless you're going Tri-SLI its not worth it.

The only thing that's exciting about X99 is DDR4.

Does anyone know how the new Pentium K will compare against the AMD Athlon X4 750K Black Edition 3.40GHz?

I am wondering if it is possible to create a budget build using one of these highly overclockable CPU's and a high end GPU (preferably Nvidia,) that will power a 4k screen effortlessly.

Basically I have money for a new build but want to use some of the money to replace my ageing dell monitor.

I don't agree with this in the slightest. My testing with 4790K showed a higher OC with the exact same voltage settings as I use for 4770K and resulted in nearly 20C better temperatures but the 5GHz barrier stayed well and truly in tact on air.

My initial response to this was to scoff and say "don't expect miracles"
I've had my fears confirmed, these results were gained by using LN2 to chill the cooler apparatus to sub-ambient temperatures. A little underhanded I think.

But I will swap my 4770k anyway, can't even get stable 4.2 with good temps on my current chip :/
