Any idea's what the difference between the 8I945P-Pro and the 8I945P-G (that OCUK sells HERE) are?

Quite tempted to give one of this a go for a change of scenery but I want a clocking beast for nice and cheep cos thats more fun :D

Pro has sata raid and dual bios the p-g does not

I have just ordered myself an Asus P5ND2 SLi Deluxe, uses nforce 4 but has full support for the 805 from one of the later BIOS... clocking won't be amazing but it looks to be a good solid board considering what I payed from the B grade section.

next week im ordering a new monitor , new mobo , artic silver 5 , 2 sata 2 hds and some ddr 2 ram so looks like ill be having some more goodie to play with :D

right i feel like an idiot but how on earth do i get this cpu to show up that its working in dual core ?

cpu-z has the dual core option bit blacked out and device manager doesnt even show one cpu never mind 2 :/

was a new install with sp2 aswell, all asus drivers installed too

any help would be great

Ctrl, Alt, Del to open Task Manager. Click on the performance tab, and you should see two boxes on the Cpu Usage History part?

if this copy of windows you using now had previously installed on a single core cpu machine then you will have to re-install windows :)

yeah i did a full new windows install this morning the first time i booted

i got a new hdd, mobo and the cpu so i had too.

thinking of re installing again now though because i cant get this working dual core at all

re installed using the official windows disk instead of my nlite service pack 2 one and all is fine in the world of dual core :S :D

might get some overclocking done later ;)

yeah i kinda wish i moved over toopci e too but i only bought an agp 6800gs a few weeks ago :(

this asus p5p800 se seems good so far

read in some reviews it has problems with voltage but all the rail seems fine :)

edit -

at 3.3ghz its performing better than my athlon mobile at 2.4ghz did.

only used super pi and 3dmark05 mind.

cant seem to get the fsb past 166 though at the moment :(

Can't get mine past 3.80 Ghz without it throwing a wobbly

4.0Ghz gets to the windows loading screen before dieing a horrible death

3.9Ghz boots fine but after 20 mins freezes. I tried playing CS but after 5 mins I get artifacts then it dies - another horrible death :/

So...is this my limit?
Can I do anything else to get it upto 4Ghz?

Loving these chips, great bang for buck :D Currently on 3.3Ghz stock volts, cranking it up slowly making sure its 100% stable.

I've got a 920D on its way from B-grade too, so I'll have a play with that and see which is best.
