Intel Haswell Refresh Processors Codenamed Devil’s Canyon – Launching in Mid 2014 With Unlocked Desi

NDA no sharing. Usual stuff.

On NDA lift I can post up some results then and only then.

I really "love" how usually even the day of the lift of the NDA is under NDA. :D
Sadly ES chips are around as they can sometimes be quite misleading about the general performance in overclocking compared to the retail ones. But considering how much in advance they have to send them to you guys I see no other way really.
A respected source I trust tells me they have tested 4690K with poor results. We have our 4690K and 4790K samples next week so I will try then but I am not holding my breath.
Maybe the usual Intel shenanigans, no real need to upgrade, just a better solution if you are buying at this point of time. I think we are used to too much when we are promised improved overclockability as main feature of a new gen/update.

NDA will be lifted on 2nd June, if I recall correctly.
But you still can share the test results with us implicitly, right?:D:p
Rumour says retail tray version will start to sell around 25 May, boxed version somewhere in June, could you confirm this, 8pack?

Looking to get a 4690K and nice little mobo to go with it on the 15th of June. Looing forward to the NDA being lifted.

Whether overclocking results are good or not, it'll still be a whole load faster than my 6 core phenom @ 4ghz

Tbh I'm getting well sick of these NDA's. First with the z97 mobo's, now the cpu's. Happening loads in the console world as well. How is one to make an informed decision and pre-order? I like to read reviews a week before the products launch so I can take my time on the best choice for me and still get them on launch date, Annoying.

intel did tons of bad things in recent years and overclocking now has less fun compared with 5-7 years ago

Guys I cant confirm this kinda stuff. Its all NDA.

8pack, if I may ask, has OCUK ever thought about selling binned CPUs?
Take 4770K for example,
stable 4.5G @ 1.320v +£20
@ 1.300v +£50
.
.
.
@1.10 and below +£xxx
Just an example I made up all these numbers.:p:p

Pre-orders don't really exist in the hardware world when it comes to buying CPU's.

What happens 9/10 times is reviews go live and the products on stores go live, until then it's all NDA.

You get NDA's on a lot of things, you'd be surprised.

They did/do.
Only not separate, as part of a bundle.

Worked out something like £400 for the chip for a 4.6Ghz minimum clock, came delidded and CLU applied. Decent value imho.

Problem is that then you get customers who don't pay extra will expect to get the rejects that didn't overclock well. If you're playing the odds, then you'll know to shop elsewhere.

Yes but if someone buys a retail unit shouldn't it be in a sealed box? I'd be pretty annoyed if what I ordered came with a broken seal.

I think OCUK is a honest webshop and all intel boxed CPUs have seal. As long as the seal is still intact, the scenario you said is not possible.
I know OCUK have track on almost everything, e.g. when did one specific item arrive at the warehouse and when did it leave the shelf, if customers have doubts, OCUK after sale can easily sort it out.
