Intel i9-9900KS : 5GHz All-core announced...

I had the 3GHz Pentium 4 with HT on a DFI 865pe board IIRC was a great setup until the core 2 duo came out - also had one of those weird gainward GPUs which was a 6800 ultra extreme on AGP with 512MB VRAM - it would hit like 109C (the GPU) under max load overclocked but never missed a beat.

Netburst and gainward golden sample.. living the dream right there, I had the Barton 2500 (in that abit nf7-s board with nfoce 2 nvidia chipset) and 9700pro and all my pals had the 6 series nvidia and constantly trolled me and my far superior hardware!

Yeah living the dream alright:

DFI 865pe Infinity (later changed for a LANParty board), OCZ XTC Gold w/ the voltage booster, etc. and the at the time much hyped Akasa Black Knight cooler.

Pretty pretty hardware. I need to get my current project finished first, but hopefully in a couple of months I'll be able to start modding my Gigabyte 8KNXP and Antect PlusView AMG - keep an eye out for Akasha Renaissance in the project logs ;)

And yes, I'm going to be covering the board in the latest craze of covers, I/O shrouds and lights :D but tastefully, I'm an artist, not a child.

Look at that :D, that right there is the stuff of my teenage years, I am sure I had that ram as well minus the ghetto looking voltage booster! Look what we have done to the 9900ks thread  Not going to lie, its probably more interesting (yea I went there). Sorry lads.

Modern hardware just doesn't get me like that any more - I see the 9900KS, etc. and just like "whatever". Hardly anyone makes the crazy hardware any more that was truly innovative or outside the box.

Like the removable motherboard tray in the coolermaster case, like this one in my garage...

Old school hardware is just win.

They did atleast innovate - though some of their stuff unfortunately wasn't great like the StealthXtreme PSUs hah.

Do the intel i9-9900K not usually OC to 5 anyway on all cores?
Is this new chip not just doing that anyway?

Same chip, different name! I have yet to meet somebody that can't make a 9900k do 5ghz all core.
Same deal as the 8700K and 8086K then? The former could usually hit 5GHz anyway, but the latter was binned to guarantee it.

Based on Gibbo selling the 9900k for £449 few weeks ago...

That was me finding very cheap stock due a disti need cash for month end, so I bossed them below cost and won the deal.

Intel have made no price move and pretty much never do!

The 3800 and 3900 are incredible CPUs and both cost less than a 9900k !
