Intel Q3 price drops.

Updated to 1.8 and so far so good.

I don't think am going to wait for price drops. Will probably buy a CPU tomorrow. For a while now I have thought that it was the 3870 in my system responsible for fps drops in games, etc, but after plugging in my 4870 my FPS are the same as they were before, whether I run in low settings or max everything out.

So am just wondering how much to spend now. I don't want something that won't take much effort to OC and I don't want to mess with voltages much, but am not going to get a "low end" part like my e4300.

Currently thinking q9450/e8400/e8500. Was thinking maybe e7200, but like I said, want to avoid "low end" parts this time. Only thing putting me off q9450/e8500 is silly prices.

whats a better buy?

q9550 after the price drops or x3350 now?

going in a abit ip35 pro with 4*1GB pc6400 ram then 2*2GB pc 8500 ram at a later date

will be OCing

cooling TT then custom WC when i get round to it

q6600

I wanted the q9550, I decided to buy it. then I heard about the price drops. I realised I could buy a q6600 now, and when the time comes, buy the q9550 at the lower price, and still end up paying a little less than the q9550 costs now.

Plus I gain a spare q6600, for upgrading, or even sell on in a few weeks if it's a good clocker.
