i heard earlier this week intels SSD roadmap got leaked. How is it looking? Are we going to see double the storage for the same price?
I posted this in the Revodrive bench thread.

It's the reason I am waiting to buy a SSD. Was otherwise going to buy a C300 AND a vertex 2E end of the month.
If they key in the chart is correct it'll be enterprise grade MLC. Still pricey but not as much as SLC.Yea a 400GB SLC based drive is going to command a hefty price tag - still it's nice to see the tech moving forward!
/assuming I'm reading the chart correctly as it might not be SLC!
Possibly, I would say it's likely to be a comobo of both. As the capacity goes up there comes a point where it's not practical to just overprovision. There are so many complex processes to making NAND, it wouldn't supprise me if they can make higher grade NAND.My thinking is that there is no such thing as "enterprise grade MLC nand", all they'll have done is massively overprovision instead. There's also a chance that the enterprise controller might have a few more channels too to boost write speeds.
Lovely to see 600GB SSDs coming to the market! Wonder how much they will set us back?![]()
