Well I would think they would make the queue by the date/time the order is received for that particular product. So I assume you would be at the back now as you have made a new order.

Agreed, but this is not a new order per-say, it's an amendment. Nothing has changed with regards my original order for the E6600, i'm just getting the other parts shipped as they are available.

I'm just venting now

It seems that Intel know they have a great product on their hands and they can pretty much do as and how they please.

From memory, over the last 5 or so years, this has to be the most anticipated launch of any cpu. Ive never seen so much anticipation before on a cpu.

As Intel Guy has quite rightly pointed out the cpu has not officially launched yet, there has been no big announcements from intel about the chip. Therefore it isnt a paper launch yet because it hasn't been launched. We shall see in a few days what happends. This does remind me of the amd k6 and early k6-2 era where you couldn't buy there chips for love nor money on release for months

Don't know if this is appropriate, but I'll ask anyway. What would the chances of getting an E6600 when they are released if I was to place a pre-order tomorrow? I have also been slightly annoyed by this release as the shortages have scuppered my plans to order after the mad rush of pre-orders have been dispatched and the new stock is in.

Just read threw this whole topic and you guys are really getting desperate for some conroe action. As for me I am just sticking with the good old opteron and this whole conroe thing reminds me of the opteron thing which soon died out so people DONT PANIC !!

Maybe you should have cancelled everything except the E6600 from your first order, and then made a new order for all the stuff you had just cancelled. That way, your original order would still be in the queue (amended to just the E6600)

In retrospect that would have been the way to do it. If I knew then what I know now........

Not the same with the optys,

The opty were the same tech,

The conroe is completely new and smacks the Optys ass!

I'm surprised that people are surprised.

I read two weeks ago in the US that Conroe was going to be in seriously short supply, I was also told by a UK retailer last week that they wouldn't be arriving this week. I'm not in the industry so I have no insider knowledge, it wasn't exactly hard to find out.

I'm also surprised OcUK found out so late when others knew before, still, not exactly their fault though. They don't make them.

Is it my imagination or didn't the core 2 duo page on OCUK yesterday say delayed chips were due August now.

This morning it's back saying week commencing July 24th :confused:

Have you tried pressing control and F5 to do a hard refresh, I just checked and it's the same as yesterday?
