Can you take a screen shot of your eventvwr for system, and sort it by errors, it may gives some clues...
By the way sent you a reply back
Mine is almost instant off as well.
So hanging for 10 secs or so deffo isn't right. not great loss either , but at least it shuts down.
If you want to track it down. then start with a clean install, ie no drivers loaded and just load device driver at a time, measure your boot and shut down time until you find the culprit.
Do you have any mapped network drives either on yours or another machine ?
Do you have a removable storage drive at all, Ie usb ? If so unplug the drive ?? Just reply to your email..
Try checking your services and look for ones with a startup type of (delayed start)
start>run then type services.msc
thanks mick i will give it a go
why is it tho when i leave the system on it hangs on shutdown, but if i reboost after say 5 seconds its almost instant ?
