The Internazionale president, Massimo Moratti, has refused to comment on media reports suggesting he has sacked Rafael Benítez as coach due to a dispute over transfers.
"I prefer not to talk today to avoid the risk of creating controversies," Moratti told reporters. Today's edition of Gazzetta dello Sport said Benítez, who has only been in charge at Inter for six months, is to be replaced by the Zenit St Petersburg coach, Luciano Spalletti.
On Sunday, Moratti had labelled comments by Benítez following Inter's triumph in the World Club Cup as "inappropriate". The Spaniard told a news conference in Abu Dhabi that the club had to make signings in the summer or else he would speak with his agent about his future.
Ah that old chestnut. Yes, no other team ever gets injury's you're right.
Yeah, isn't it just disgraceful the way people will harangue a manager at a top club, purely because of a mixture of poor form, injuries, and a lack of support from those above him?Wouldn't surprise me.
Loads of injuries to key players, as many as 12 players out for ~ 3 weeks not too long ago.
Told to sell and get the wage budget down, and in return they will sign 3 new players on 'more realistic wages'.
None of the three players materialise.
Manager is sacked.
Lets be honest - Maureen went crazy on the signings and ended up giving contracts (Big money ones too) to dross like Quresma. Rafa in to do the dirty work getting the wage bill in check, sack him and let him take the flack.
Sounds like the Inter way!

another disciple of the media i see.
CluelessI'd say the only disciples here are the Liverpool fans who still bizarrely worship a guy who did so much damage to their club.
