Inter: Benitez sacked?

What does he need 4-5 new players for? Inter won the treble last season under Mourinho... have they suddenly become crap players or is he just wanting to spend money compensating for his deficiencies as a manager?

So when other teams are changing and getting better, or when players are out for a long time, you should keep yuor own team as it is?

lol at the Benitez excuses.

Ok, he took the CLEAR champions that blew away everyone in the league, and started well, not really, as I remember it they started off with a draw and trailed a few teams who won the first few games, caught up briefly as the early leaders all dropped back, two of the promoted teams IIRC were 1-3rd for the first month. They never looked good.

THe excuses also seem to forget, for instance the second game against Spurs, they had their first choice right back on the pitch, Benitez decided not to I dunno, tell him to stay back, mark Bale, watch some video to see how the incredibly one dimensional, one trick pony plays(having only seen it himself 2 weeks before) and cut off the one thing he does, which such notable right backs as Rafael, Neville and well, several other not very well regarded right backs managed with ease.

They lost that game not because Spurs were brilliant, but because Benitez couldn't come up with a simple idea to combat Bale, like, heres quite an easy one, put a defender in at right back and tell him to STAY at right back, shocking.

Benitez is failing because while other managers get great performances out of average players, he's failing to get average performances out of great players, again.

All teams have injuries, he's failed in many games already where almost the full first team has been available.

As for his pram out the buggy moment, he's a manager, not an owner, there isn't some god given right that if you're in the top 4, or have ever won anything its absolutely expected the manager can spend big, and if told he can't he can throw a childish tantrum on tv to try and persaude them to.

If you remember Liverpools entire problem between manager/board started when he publically had a tantrum because they wanted a week to decide before spending 25mil on Mascherano. He's a spoilt brat, or thats what he comes across as "what do you mean I can't spend 50mil and buy whoever I want right now"....... goes off to find a tv camera to rant infront of.

All teams suffer from injuries, Chelsea have a smaller squad than Inter, with worse youth players, and have had more of their main players injured than Inter have, are they 13 points off the top?

In 14 games last season by the same date, they had won 10, lost 2, scored 30, and had 32 points, now they've played 15, won 6, lost 4, scored 20 and have 23 points, but they are ALL playing rubbish football. They look lost, theres no cohesion in the way they play, the back 4 play like they've never spoken a word to each other.

Benitez is failing because he's tactically inept, if Mourinho had the same injuries he'd adapt, probably go uber defensive and play for 1-0 wins, and most importantly, he'd get them.

There's absolutely no defending Benitez this season, I can understand people defending him at Liverpool, but he's been dreadful this year according to nearly everything I've read. Injuries are a poor excuse, even with the injuries that Inter squad was more expensive and better than anybody else in the league, but you'd grant him a bit of sympathy, though they're something like 7th I think, and that's way too poor for Inter.

If he wasn't sacked yesterday, it sounds like he has been today.

And does DM play chinese whispers with himself? He repeats the same BS but with subtle changes.

LOLZ at the Liverpool fans reaction to this news, seems the guys still a saint despite doing a rubbish job at 2 clubs now

I couldn't care less how poorly he done at Osasuna or Inter. He done a good job in terrible circumstances at Liverpool and not only stuck with us despite having the chance to join the likes of Real several times, he put his own job on the line for the good of the club.

While I don't think he should come back to Liverpool (we need a fresh start), if our owners are telling the truth when they talk about wanting to learn about the club then they should be looking to meet with Rafa while he's back on Merseyside.

Only Benitez could take the triple winning Inter Milan in a very very very medicore Serie A to looking nothing more than a bunch of disjointed demotivated and under performing has beens who look devoid of tactics or ideas on the field. All just a little bit of history repeating.

Not that any Liverpool fan would admit it. Because if he he didn't have injuries, didn't buy players who under performed, didn't have owners who didn't back him or a split dressing room, it would all be good and whatever team he manages would have course be the best in the world.

He made ultimatums at Valencia and Liverpool and that didn't work. He tried it at Inter and met his match and they have ****** him right off.

The cult of Rafa is alive and kicking. He must be the unluckiest manager alive to have been at all these top clubs and to have such bad owners who never backed him( how the other 91 league managers get on by trying to make the team better on a limited budget is beyond me). Unlucky with so many injuries because the gods of football don't give out injuries to other teams do they.

Honestly curious

All just a little bit of history repeating..

When has this happened before?
Honestly curious

It happened on more that one occasion. The clearest being when he turned down a new contract because of the situation at the academy. There was also the times where he took on Rick Parry (pre and post-takeover) regarding the way the club handled transfer dealings. And not forgetting outing H&G over broken promises etc.

As Loki touched on in his obsessed way, he can be overly confrontational with the way he handles things but he always acted in the best interests of the club, certainly at Liverpool anyway.

Rubbish frankly, the situation, its October or something, he wants Mascherano deal to be permanent, the owners were flying in a week later into the uk, and they had the cheek to say they wanted to talk over a 25million deal IN PERSON a whole week later and miles before the deal needed to be made final, remember the transfer window didn't really matter as IIRC he was on loan the entire year anyway, and the deal could be done at really any time.

TO this Rafa went on TV, made a pratt of himself, got slated the world over for acting like a petulant child and on tv turned at that stage a perfectly amicable owner/manager situation, into a massive war for literally no reason except he is and always will be a spoilt brat who can't understand it when his parents tell him theres a better time and place for the conversation.

If someone I EMPLOY phones me up, knowing I'll be there for a face to face meeting, demands I approve spending 25mil over the phone, when theres little to no urgency in the situation at all, then goes public over our conversation in the single most childish way possible, I'd be talking about removing said employee for incompetance, nothing more or less.

Benitez created every problem with the owners, HIMSELF, because he's a complete moron, and that wasn't acting in the best interests of the club. This was at a time Liverpool were doing well, then they hit the top, then he made his "this is why I'm so sad at the press and their love for Fergie" terrorist list of demands style press conference, then when Liverpools form dipped he blamed the owners, and the press and everyone but himself who created all these issues himself.

DM, I asked it earlier but who do you play chinese whispers with?

Not only was Rafa's outburst nothing to do with Mascherano, you seem to be adding parts to the story everytime you write it. Now Masch cost £25m? :o

Not that you'll change your tune but that press-conference was down to the speed in which Rick Parry was concluding deals to sell Sissoko and sign a bosman.

Yeah, isn't it just disgraceful the way people will harangue a manager at a top club, purely because of a mixture of poor form, injuries, and a lack of support from those above him?

Thankfully you'd never get that kind of rubbish over here... oh.

EDIT: Oh! And I forgot "a previous manager's poor signings" too. also essential to consider, eh.

:D :D :D :D

In fairness to rafa 90%. Of inters team is 30 or older mourinho new that and that's probably a factor in why he left for madrid I do put some of the blame on rafa but not all of it inter are 500 million euro in debth so it's not looking good for inter fans. FORZA JUVE

Bit unlucky I think with the injuries but his outburst was slightly daft for me.

Certainly something which should have been said in private.

The fact he said it in public suggested he had no real relationship with the Chairman.
