Inter: Benitez sacked?

Why is disputing what Riise was paid anti liverpool exactly? Anyone can see what your total wage bill is/was from your financials quite easily. That's not even open to dispute, what you pay individual players appears to me to be largely irrelevant.

The amount of grief DM gets is too much. You said the same about Biz.Kid a while back iirc but no one got all worried that it was your anti United agenda.

DM didn't dispute what Riise was being paid (not today anyway). He chose to repeat 1 of his other Benitez-Liverpool lies and after some prompting, tbf to him, he repeated other lies about Liverpool. That's the anti-Liverpool stuff I was referring to.

IIRC I stuck up for Biz when certain people seemed to go out of their way to have a pop at him. Not quite the same thing as DM getting **** for randomly quoting people and posting a pack of lies.

edit: Sorry. 1 more post for you Rotty :o

Well if you think about it lets say you agreed to pay someone 10million if they were meeting all performance indicators agreed and you just sacked them.

7million if they were only meeting some of them.

5million if they left by mutual consent

Bugger all if it was them who sodded off.

Wouldn't you be looking at ways for your solicitors to show that they'd made their own position untenable before you came out in the press and said they were sacked. Wouldn't it also be a good move for them financially to keep schtum about their position while waiting for you to make the move.

It seems to me it's like a standoff. Or the press could be coming from absolutely nowhere whatsoever with this, but I actually think that's pretty unlikely in this case.

Not so much what you said but some of the article's I've read make no sense.

If he's not officially been sacked yet then fair enough but the rags are claiming he has been and if that's the case then the stuff about refusing to confirm it to the press in a bid to keep the pay-off down makes no sense.

So has he been fired or not?
Different sites say different things, the overwhelming message being given is that he HAS been fired in some way or another and its merely sorting out how much money and the exact reasons why.

Cant see any way back for him at Inter now regardless of whether he's still 'officially' employed by them

I agree with whoever said he really needs to take a year out, going from the mess at Liverpool straight to treble winners Inter was always going to end one way, even if it is surprising just how rubbish he's made them :p

Not being privy to the workings of the boardroom this is obviously speculation but could they possibly be trying to shoot for the angle that he made his own position untenable with him criticizing the board in an interview?

Not commenting on the rights or wrongs.of that stance but while there may well have been a complete breakdown of working relationship, pay offs are possibly still being negotiated wouldn't it somewhat strengthen Benitez hand if Inter released a statement saying he had left his post before everything was finalized?

Only if he's not actually been sacked. If he has been then I'm not sure how the press knowing about it will make a difference in any pay-off negotiations.

Inter confirming it won't affect what Benitez said last week if they're going down that route.

I imagine the press have jumped the gun and he's all but sacked, with it just being a case of completing the formalities.

Hopefully all our christmases will come and he will take over from Roy. The Liverpool fans will be happy because after all he was brilliant and the non liverpool fans will be happy to have the guy back to make further endless errors and gaffes.

Please no, I can't stand the man. Fantastic tactically but my least favourite person in football. If he was further up his own arse his head would come out of his mouth.

Wouldn't you know it, Phil McNulty's blog is prattling about how Rafa's 'stock is still high' and Europe still considers him a great manager.

I don't think he'll go jobless or anything but I hardly think the last two years have endeared him to anything above a mid-table side in England or Spain.

Back to Liverdrool then.

Thats fair I think. Liverpool are heading towards being a mid table side. If torres or gerrard leave or get injured again then I cant see it going well. Phil McNulty does talk some **** though. This wont have done him any favours at all. I would be massively surprised if he ends up managing a top flight club.
