Intergalactic By Naughty Dog

Who actually cares? I know I don't. I'm not bothered if my character is gay or straight or non binary or even what colour skin they have. As long as the gameplay is good and it's fun to play then that's all that matters.

I don't care, but in some cases I think character creativity goes out the window when a developer has to tick certain boxes, not saying thats the case here or in every game though.

Of course gameplay is the key, but having a great character to play as/with is still important. The new Indiana Jones game for example, that has great gameplay but it also has an iconic character to play as which defiantly sells the game, just like Nathan Drake in Uncharted, Joel and Ellie in Last of Us.

Perhaps HE is the Heretic Prophet.
Really? The trailer gave away all that, utter ********

That is some absolutely insane levels of deduction there.

Ok, it's not Outlaws, it's Bebop

The player character, Jordan, was a member of “The Five Aces,” a band of notorious criminals. The leader, Luis (Tony Dalton) disappeared without a trace, causing the Five to drift apart. The reason for Jordan’s shaved head, is to serve the hiding of her identity, as she is a wanted criminal. Jordan works as a bounty hunter purely as a means to find her former partners, Particularly Luis, who she sees as a father figure.”

Kumail Nanjiani plays Colin, the comic relief. An important note is that there will be no space combat in the game.

“The bulk of the game is described as an ‘open world Uncharted mixed with Sci-Fi elements’. The majority of enemy combatants are AI driven machines, but with a wide variety of types. Melee, ranged, and even vehicle combat are in the game. The base of operations in the game is your crashed ship, which can be customized. As you find each member of your old crew, they will join you on the ship (with seamless interactions depending on the day/night cycle, think RDR2) in your search for Luis

Being on the negative side of Naughty Dog, im just glad / curious its not a TLOU property.

Sick of TLOU, but then I thought the way the 1st game ended was fine, it didnt need anything else.

I feel sorry for people who constantly look for something that differs from the norm to be offended by.

Just because the protagonist isn't a grizzled, bearded, white middle-aged man with a gravelly voice doesn't mean the game is going to suck.

Watched the trailer and the first thing I could think off was how much are they going to charge us gamers with all those brands within the game?

Not sold at all really.

I think you have it backwards.

Surely those brands are paying them to show off their brands, like a sponsorship. As opposed to the developer paying Porsche to use their name in the game. I doubt ND would think they would sell more games because there is a Porsche logo on the back of a spaceship.

Whereas there are a lot more gamers in their 30’s and 40’s now who can afford to buy a Porsche, having that logo on screen every time you take flight in the game is a lot of hours of advertising to the target demographic.

I agree with your logic, but would comment that having Porsche as a sponsored brand is rather odd given the demographic likely to play this game.

Sales will be very interesting to see. Sony isn’t to hot atm and with triple A games in general are struggling over the past year or two.

TLOU2 sold over 40% less than TLOU1 with like triple the budget. Are we looking at a similar type of performance?

At the end of the day the games main target audience for that type of game is male which this doesn’t seem to be aimed at.

Where is the rule that a "strong independent woman" always has to look like a man now though ? Its just a different stereotype now. Shaved head, smoke cigars, has a face that looks like a smacked arse etc etc.
