Interlagos - Brazilian Grand Prix 2009 - Race 16/17

Has Button ever finished lower than his starting grid position?

track-grid-Finish

Melbourne-1-1
Sepang 1-1
Shanghai 5-3
Sakhir 4-1
Barcelona 1-1
Monte Carlo 1-1
Istanbul 2-1
Silverstone 6-6
Nurburgring 3-5
Budapest 8-7
Valencia 5-7
Spa-Francorchamps 14-retired
Monza 6-2
Singapore 11-5
Suzuka 10-8

So three times. Just look at that. I can not fathom why people say he does not deserve WDC. Just look at the results.

Are you forgetting Renault's 2005 and 2006 constructor victories?

oooppsss of course I am , or was that just Alonso hauling an average car with a good motor at the time to Championship wins?;)

Jenson seems to be faster than Rubens all through the 2nd session so far (even with more fuel onboard)

Currently 1st but not sure if he will hold on to that (with it being so close at the moment)

I've got a friend who does marshalling and he's been picked among 350 to do this grand prix, he flies out this Wednesday to do the GP2 next weekend too, all expenses paid for almost 2 weeks, i'm not jealous much :(. I've told him to bring me a Brawn GP cap home.

Exactly, there is little point in the sponsor sending the vinyls to Brawn to pre-fit. Much easier just to fit on site. I notice Barichello was running with TNT Energy Drink decals, did Button have them or not? I would have thought it would clash with his Monster sponsorship.

Arent most of the different brands of energy drink all owned by the same few parent companies anyway?

Hamilton is a great driver, I also rate Vettel in that bracket. Button, Alonso and Massa aren't *quite* in that bracket -

Alonso:
2 time world drivers champ.
21 wins
577 points
He has more wins and points than any other driver in F1.
The only guy in recent years to have beaten the mighty MS/Ferrari, 2 years in a row and effectively forced MS to think about his future in F1, which ultimately led to his retirement.
Alonso moves to McLaren and is immediately fast (he didn't require a settling in period) and almost won the WDC in his first year with them.
He's totally outqualified/outraced his team-mates during the last few years, by a substantial margin (Hamilton excepted, as Hamilton is his equal).

Vettel:
no drivers titles.
4 wins
110 points
Struggles many times to beat/dominate his team-mate.
He can win races when he is on the front row, but I do believe he is yet to win a single race when required to overtake rigorously.
Very good in the rain.
Nothing else of note.

To rank Vettel higher than Alonso is laughable.

They all have the potential to win races and even the WDC, but none of them have the potential to be a Senna, Prost or Schumacher.

I beg to differ.

Hamilton have every chance to go on and surpass Senna and Prost's achievements and may even rewrite some of the records that MS holds. He already holds the record for being the youngest World Drivers Champion.

Some people have tendency to view past sportsmen with rose tinted specs, where they fail to realise that the current crop of sportsmen may actually be superior to those of the past.

Quick help guys 10mins. Anyone know a rss feed or wap friendly website to get qauli results on, as I'm away. hopefully back in time for race tomorrow.
