He's read the BBC report again and seen that Crouch came on and then went off injured.

So he almost scored a headed goal against a woeful defence and crap keeper? yet against any good side is kept out of the game by his poor positioning, lack of ability, talent, pace, strength or reading of the game.

He's crap because he's crap because he's crap. He won't play well against Brazil or Italy, or France in a final, he's literally incapable of playing that level so he shouldn't be in the running for other games. Just because he can get one header against a league 1 quality team who didn't turn up because it was a completely unimportant friendly, does not make Crouch a good player. Its what you do for 90 minutes, NOT if you get one header right in. one good touch in a world cup final won't win you the game while playing well for 90 minutes might. Guess what a half decent keeper would have saved it anyway, and I couldn't be certain from the initial replay, its not clear it was a header, as much as a deflected header, sometimes you get lucky. he might get lucky and score against Brazil, however he won't possibly have a good 90 minutes against them so he shouldn't be there.

A free role or just what Gerrard does, roam around, again against a well organised team that actually cares about the game they play leaving your left back so massively exposed will leave you incredibly weak, can you get away with that against a crap team with no quality attacking players, yes, can you get away with that against Brazil no.

Bah, pretty typical Scotland performance, it's almost like they've read the script beforehand. Look semi-decent in the first ten minutes - check, threaten the goal with a great opportunity before duffing it up with a startlingly display of ineptitude - check Kenny Miller, lose a goal to a seemingly innocuous attack - check, lose a second goal in much the same way - check, somehow contrive to get a decision from the referee that seems to be utterly improbable - check, give away a penalty to round off the humiliation - check.

I said before the game started that I'd be happy if we didn't get a tanking like the last time but about the best I can say is that we didn't lose by six again. Oh and I've learned that you can be offside from a corner it would seem so the day wasn't a total loss. :o
 
England team's the same as it was at the weekend with the exception of Crouch replacing Heskey.

Will probably watch it tonight but I don't really have any interest in it other than hoping Gerrard comes through unscathed.
 
I'm starting to get interested in England again now, Cappello seems to have got them playing pretty well & with passion and purpose:)
 
3 - 1 im hoping for so i can win some money from the lads at work. Can't see us getting beat regardless of the scoreline.

My passion for England left after a few months of Sven being in charge and it's never really come back.

Just laughed at Teddy's comment on the two Ukrainian strikers, "I don't know anything about them but if they're playing instead of Shevchenko they must be good". What's that Teddy? Voronin must be good? No!
